The Designer Handbag that Stops People in the Street

Do you ever stop people in the street or on the sidewalk to ask where they purchased something? I do and it doesn’t embarrass me at all, but many of my friends and colleagues won’t do this. They are either too shy or think it’s bad manners. I don’t think of it that way at all.

If I see another woman wearing something beautiful, I think it’s nice to compliment them and tell them it’s beautiful. Usually you can then ask where it came from. All humans, male or female, love to be complimented on their style or something they are wearing and carrying.

You can find and discover some of the best designer labels by simply asking people where they bought something. That is how I’ve discovered countless labels. I love blazers and jackets. One afternoon in Paris I was strolling in a public garden and I met a woman with the most amazing jacket. Of course I piped up and asked her where she bought her beautiful blazer. She told me it was by a label called Zoe Mellow.

Of course I’d never heard of it, but from then on I started acquiring many pieces of outerwear from the label. Had I not complimented the woman and asked where she bought it, I’d never have known where it came from. It totally pays to ask strangers where they bought something.

(Of course you have to have good judge of character so you don’t ask a complete psycho. And I’ve noticed other women in the fashion industry gladly let you know where they purchased something and they aren’t weirded out by your questions at all even though they don’t know you.)

This actually happens to me quite often. I am always stopped and questioned when I carry handbags from a certain line. The brand is PLIA Designs and without fail someone always stops me each time I use one. They make beautiful handcrafted luxury designer handbags, satchels, purses, and leather goods. I love all of my PLIA Designs designer handbags and so do complete strangers.

In fact, I keep their business cards in my handbags so each time someone asks where I got my handbag, I tell them PLIA Designs and then hand them a card so they can log onto their website. Two days ago in London a socialite and famous girl about-town asked to hold my PLIA Designs handbag. She couldn’t get over the delicious leather and fabrics. She said when she went home she would order her very own PLIA Designs handbag.
