We have made it to hump day, we all know that means one thing, it’s #weddinghour tonight. Eek! Do join us between 9-10pm for lots of the prettiest inspiration to plan your very own wedding.

You will have the chance to ask questions, find suppliers local to you or your destination and talk to other Brides and grooms about how their planning is going too. All you will need to do is type #weddinghour into all of your tweets so you can be seen by everyone else who’s in the lovely wedding conversation.

Tonight’s toping in #weddinghour is all about Bridesmaids. Yep, we are talking all things from finding the perfect bridesmaid dress, to bridesmaid etiquette. Perhaps you have something you you would like to share in #weddinghour tonight or supply bridesmaid dresses, we would love you to join us in the pretty conversation.

To kick start tonight’s topic for #weddinghour we are talking about how to select the perfect dresses or outfits to make them feel even more gorgeous no matter what their shapes, sizes or personalities.

You have already done the hardest part (or not so hard, in some cases) by asking your favourite ladies to stand by your side on the big day, and after what should have been gracious acceptance (perhaps accompanied by loud squeals of excitement) of course, it’s time to get discussing about what outfits they are going to wear. Remember, It’s your job to make sure these ladies both look and feel gorgeous! (no pressure.)

So, First things first, where will you find your inspiration for outfits? Here at The Wedding Affair we would recommend searching through Magazines. They have pages upon pages of suggestions for bridesmaids. The glossiest magazines will have real weddings, interviews and masses of inspiration for you and your girls to look at. Blogs too are a great (and free!) source of research. You will be able to search inspiration boards for colour ideas and the latest trends.

The bridal boutiques you visit for bridal gowns will also often have a selection of bridesmaids dresses to try and if not, ask them for recommendations. Pinterest is also a great place to look for inspiration and makes it very easy to share images/links with your bridesmaids from your own inspiration boards.

The Budget & Mix Match‌ If you’re hoping for a little help from your girls on the cost, it’s important to have these conversations early on, rather than in a busy shop trying on dresses! Many brides cover the cost of the dresses but ask that the bridesmaids choose and pay for their own shoes and accessories, something they would use again.

One way bridesmaids can choose their own outfits is for the bride to pick a style or colour for them to go with. That way everyone can feel comfortable and buy things to match their own budgets. This idea would be especially great for ladies that are a bit fussy, or if one dress doesn’t suit all.

We all have very set colours and shapes that we wear for everyday clothes because that’s what we wear. A bridesmaid boutique that stocks a good range of colours is a great way to try something new and leave the dress on a few minutes, if it’s not something you are used to. After you get over the initial shock of change, some colours are real growers!

Different Styles… If you’re looking at dresses on the high street, try lots of different necklines. Try and find the best style to suit different body shape’s. If you are wanting all of your bridesmaids with some uniformity in the colour and length but then rocking their own shape, then we totally would recommend Two Birds (how gorgeous!?). Lou Lou Puchalka is a stockist of this stunning bridesmaid range!

We all have parts of our body we’d like to improve, try rather to focus on the bits you do like and show them off as much as possible – good legs, go short! If you’re blessed with a bust, a nice open neckline while still being ladylike will look fantastic, show off what you have with style!
