Never under estimate the power of your mind.

Come with me, I will take you into a world of enchantment.

You are free to be who you want to be. Conforming is not always the best option.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, or so they say. If that is the case what is a word itself worth? Define the words, actions and emotions and you have a glimpse into the human mind.

Ripples of self rejection splash against piano key stepping stones and hollowed out logs, humming the melody of my country roots. I’m a hostage to this river, memories of flower crowns and lantern stars drown every wave of happiness that washes on my bank. As the poem in my pocket states I’m just another dead butterfly floating away from life. And as I count the links in the chain that pulls me under, I focus on stained glass wings in a starless world and conquer my only fear. Title: Stained Glass Wings By: Hannah Kitchens Word: Phobia

Bungle-A Series by: Lindsey Kemp “Bungle” is about the clumsy, awkward, sometimes-comicalthough-purposely-inadequate mistakes we choose to make. The mistakes that are made whilst conscious, awake, and self-aware. The ambiguous images in “Bungle” were taken at times in my personal life when I was, veritably, “messing up”

Diabolic I told them she wasn’t innocent, but they didn’t believe me. I begged them not to trust her, but they refused to heed my warnings. If only I could show them her rotten heart, her dead, sunken eyes. If only I could reveal her deepest desires… Her quarries are blinded by her blushing beauty, hypnotized by her piercing gaze, not knowing they are lambs for the slaughter. They have no idea what’s beneath her porcelain skin, yet they vie for her attention to receive the kiss of death. They all fall victim to her diabolic deeds, not knowing that their souls will soon be hers. Word: Diabolic By: Rusheena Boone

You see Wedding bells on a summer day Meant love to me. We had babies very soon. I cared for them, you know. I stayed at home. We thought it best. Now we’ll never know. I went to church, found the Lord. You had no time for that. I cried some days, cried to sleep Elusive love fades fast. You got a job in another town, And ran toward something new. I’m sorry that you couldn’t love And grow up, too. The children ask me where you are. I sit down and cry. I’m working now to feed the kids You don’t even try. Word: Elusive By: Marsha Green
