MSA Connection! Each Unity Newsletter will feature a different faculty or staff member. This selection is designed for you to learn more about professional staff and faculty members on campus who can assist you in reaching your future goals. If you know a faculty or staff member you would like to see highlighted, please contact Jesse Ford at j.ford@miami.edu.

• Hometown: Boca Raton, Florida • Where did you attend college and/or graduate school and what was your field/fields of study: I received my Master’s degree in Public Health from Florida International University and my B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Florida. • Job Duties: I manage the Health Education department within the Student Health Service. The core focus of my role as a health educator is to prevent the development of personal and campus health problems , while enhancing individual, group and institutional health and safety. This is a broad definition, which suggest that I work both at the individual and group/population level to get students to engage in health activities that will promote their health and success. • One piece of advice you would give students: Embrace your passions and pursue them daily.
