BRIEF For this project I decided to work with developing basic signage for a children’s hospital. I compiled different images from various hospitals and created my own hospital (Children’s Hospital at Boston General). I wanted to keep within the modern feel of the hospitals I had pulled from so I chose to work with a bold typeface and vector icons. The other task I wanted to accomplish in the project was to make the hospital a little more friendly by bringing in bright bold colors, and making icons that seemed a little more fun - the greatest example of that was taking the surenge - something that is typically seen as something scary and making it seem a bit more friendly. I know as a kid I always used to fear the hospital and it was because it was so cold and sterile. It seemed almost like a prision. I believe the approach I took helped solve some of that, making the hospital a bit more friendly, but still clean and simple.
