Primary Audience in need of guides, ideas, and inspirations for their own/maybe friends/ family wedding.

About NewBridal is a new local magazine that focuses on wedding. The contents are mainly wedding guides, such as informations about bridals, venues and other wedding related services. But NewBridal also covers health and fashion issues. Strength NewBridal is very welcoming and actually considers the feedback from the readers.

Secondary Audience with interest in weddings, maybe career related like event organizer or bridal and other wedding services. To keep them updated about wedding trends, etc. 05 | Competitors A. Weddingku

Weakness NewBridal still needs to find stronger identity in order to be noticed and remembered. Content, design, artwork and printing quality improvements also will be necessary.

Opportunity We can see that NewBridal has a good communication with its readers and the readers have been very active in NewBridal development process this far by giving helpful feedbacks and even their ideas. Threat NewBridal is still very much new to the market, there are better known wedding magazines in the same class with better overall quality.

Strenght Weddingku has been around for almost 12 years, so Weddingku far better known by public. Weakness Bad colours combinations, too crowded & Typeface choices are not really fit. Opportunity Weddingku have a community website, and even a travel agency that helps newly-weds arrange their honeymoon. Weedingku also regularly held wedding exhibitions. Threat Still not strong enough to stand out and be recognized when placed at the shelf.

JavaWedding Title NewBridal Magazine Re-design Background NewBridal magazine first publication was the 2014 January-February issue, so NewBridal is indeed still going trough image development process. NewBridal needs an identity that makes a statement and speaks for the magazine, also a distinct style to give NewBridal a character and keep the whole magazine together.

Strenght JavaWedding has a stronger identity compared to the other wedding magazines at the shelf. The traditional style logotype succeed making the magazine stand out. Weakness Could be mistaken as a culture magazine instead of a wedding magazine because of its design style.

03 | Drivers

Opportunity Most of Indonesian people still value and embrace traditional styled weddings.

Our goal in this project is to improve the public image and overall quality of NewBridal magazine by providing better contents and visual experience for the readers.

Threat The traditional ornaments affect JavaWedding’s public image, making the magazine seems to only exclusively focus on traditional weddings.

The design has to reflect on how we would like our readers to feel, which are warmth and sincerity.

Week 5 Analyze the magzine. Determine its Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat.

07 | Messages

Week 6 Provide the project creative brief, concept ideas, and moodboards. Start to develop style from the choosen concept.

NewBridal is Indonesia’s newest wedding magize that delivers current wedding concept and fashion trends, helpful wedding related guides and informations, and also articles about health and lifestyle with a distinct style. 08 | Visuals Exploration of medias will be conducted in order to find the visual that meets our goal, which is to give a distinct style for NewBridal magazine. We aim to make beautiful typeface choice, use high quality artworks, produce supportive ornaments/ artworks, and arrange eye-pleasing layouts because as a wedding magazine, NewBridal needs to look elegant and graceful. m

Week 7 Develop new logotype and make flatplan and page compositions. Week 8 Finish flatplan and page compositions. Create thumbnail spreads and evaluate the aesthetic and practical considerations. Week 9 Start digitalizing the magazine. Week 10 Continue digitalizing the magazine. Week 11 Test prints on different paper options or mock-up if done digitalizing.
