Thank you for your interest in UAH Panhellenic’s 2014 Recruitment! We hope that this handbook guides you through what UAH sorority life has to offer. Our experience with UAH sorority Life has made a huge impact on our lives. As sorority women, we pride ourselves on academic success, diversity, community involvement, and social expansion. Sisterhood goes way past wearing letters on your shirt, because it isn’t temporary, it is a lifelong commitment. This summer, we have made it our mission to guide you into the next chapter of your life. If you find yourself coming across any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Recruitment Schedule Wednesday, August 27th Philanthropy Night
You’ll visit all three sororities and learn about each of their philantrophies that they hold near and dear to their heart!
Thursday, August 28th Skit Night You’ll learn even more about the sororities on skit night, but don’t judge us on our singing! We all love to have fun and want to show you more about our sisterhood!
Friday, August 29th Preference Night We’ve all made a lifelong commitment to our sororities and want to share with you the impact that it’s made on our lives.
Saturday, August 30th Bid day! The day we’ve all been waiting for! Bid day is full of excitement, cheer, and sisters!

Gamma Chis meet your
Gamma Chis are sorority women who have disaffiliated from their specific sororities to serve as recruitment counselors for those going through recruitment. These ladies gave up their letters so that they can help you find yours!

Guidelines for Potential New Members A. A Potential New Member shall not be, or ever have been, an initiated member of a NPC group. A Potential New Member is ineligible for membership recruitment if she has been a new member of any NPC group on any campus within the same calendar year. B. To be eligible, a Potential New Member must: 1. Be currently enrolled as an unconditional, full time student. 2. Complete an application form. 3. Pay a registration fee of $25.00 to the UAH Panhellenic. 4. Have a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0. C. It is mandatory for all PNM’s to attend every night of Formal Membership Recruitment. The only excuse for missing a party is class. Panhellenic will work with PNM’s whose class schedules conflict with party times. D. Gamma Chis will provide nametags for PNM’s during Formal Membership Recruitment, and guide PNM’s throughout the process of Formal Membership Recruitment. E. PNM’s are not allowed to take any items from the sorority houses or designated party space during Formal Membership Recruitment. F. PNM’s are not allowed to visit any sorority houses or chapter rooms before, or during, Formal Membership Recruitment. G. PNM’s are not allowed to be at any fraternity house or chapter rooms unless it is an official UAH event during Formal Membership Recruitment. H. Formal Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement Cards will be signed immediately after the last Preference Party. Once signed, they may not be changed. I. There will be a period of silence after Formal Membership Recruitment Acceptance Bidding Agreement Cards have been signed. PNM’s and collegiate sorority members are not allowed to talk to one another until Bid Day events. J. The Panhellenic VP of Recruitment shall notify any potential new members who do not receive a bid, or an invitation to parties, prior to the distribution of invitations/bids. Explanation of their eligibility for open membership recruitment and future Formal Membership Recruitment will be given.

Q Do I need to go to all of the events listed in the recruitment schedule?
The object of recruitment is for you to learn as much as possible about the UAH greek A Yes! community so that you can make the best possible decision.
Q Will all potential new members pledge a sorority at the end of recruitment? A Recruitment is a process of mutual selection, and as such, there are many different outcomes to the process. You are not guaranteed to be asked to join a sorority, and you are not obligated to join one.
Q What if I’m an upperclassmen?
A Upperclassmen are welcome and encouraged to go through recruitment! It’s never too late to join our lifelong sisterhoods!
Q What do I do if I have class during recruitment?

Each day of recruitment will start and end in the Charger Village MPR. Charger Village is the newest residence hall and is in the center of campus, just a short walk to greek row!
