AW19/20 TREND REPORT
“Color! What a deep and mysterious language, the language of dreams.” - Paul Gauguin
Letter From The Editor Color is the spirit of every season, and its fluid mark remains permanent on each trend it touches. When creating this report, I looked to color to tell each individual story in the vivid ways only color will allow. Beginning with “Placid Pastel,” dreamy silhouettes were glistened over with the addition of a pastel, more muted palette. In “Color Me Bright,” brights found new light among inspiration from crayons, reinterpreted by top designers as playful seperates. For “No New Neutrals,” skin was in as the motivation behind a new way of seeing neutrals, and a natural way of dressing was enhanced. Finally ending with “Jaunty Jewels,” traditional jewel tones got a modern makeover, yet their opulence remained to cement a luxurious punch to any of this season’s outfits.

Delicate and intrinsically feminine, placid pastel captures the essence of a woman’s spirit through bright, cooling shades of color. Whether used in head to toe fashion, or through pops of color in one’s wardrobe, pastel shades can lighten up any look. In trying times of societal hardships, the time is up for women to regain their power. Let a pastel palette lighten your wardrobe and signify the rebirth of women.

color me bright
Bold and daring, color me bright examines a woman’s right to be valiant. A mixture between high fashion exposed logos and primary inspired colors, this trend leaves no room for fear. With colors symbolizing lust, passion, joy, and sadness, this palette is for the woman unafraid to wear her emotions on her sleeve (literally). Inspired by a chaotic political climate, this trend puts the power back in our hands.

With a world constantly in motion, no new neutrals brings fashion back to basics. Featuring a neutral color palette, this trend celebrates updated silhouettes and a nod to staple pieces, all in familiar tones and shades. Power suits, strong styles, and classic pieces all make an appearence. There is stength in simplicity.

Displayed at dusk under a midnight sky, jaunty jewels reclaims the silhouette. Sharply tailored or as free flowing as freedom, this color story embraces the dark, and the light. For the romantic yet unapologetic woman, this palette celebrates the marvel and mystery that can only come after sunset.
