ABOUT JESUIT DALLAS
Founded in 1942, Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas is a Catholic, private, independent, all-boys high school. Following the 500 year-old Jesuit tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Jesuit Dallas strives to form young men into leaders who are open to growth, intellectually competent, committed to working for justice, religious, loving, and physically fit. Currently, Jesuit enrolls 1,123 boys from 170 different middle schools. Admission to Jesuit Dallas is open to qualified young men of all faiths and denominations, without regard to race or national origin. Prospective students are chosen by an admissions committee on the basis of past school performance, academic and personal recommendations, a competitive entrance examination, a personal interview, and demonstrated promise of future development. Additional consideration is given to members of the Roman Catholic Church, sons and brothers of Jesuit Dallas alumni, brothers of current students, and students of ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic diversity. In athletics, Jesuit Dallas has claimed 121 team championships dating back to 1954. Most of the titles were won as members of the Texas Christian Interscholastic League (TCIL), a precursor to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) of which Jesuit was a member until 2000. In 2003, Jesuit Dallas, along with Strake Jesuit (Houston), became the first private schools to be admitted to the University Interscholastic League (UIL), which serves as the governing body for Texas high school athletics. Since joining the UIL, Jesuit has captured 61 district championships. In 2010, the Jesuit Dallas soccer team became the first private school team in the history of the UIL to capture a state championship. The Ranger baseball team captured its first UIL state title in 2016 and soccer added a second UIL crown in 2017. Jesuit rugby won Texas Rugby Union championships in 2001 and 2010, while the lacrosse program won back-to-back Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) titles in 2016 and 2017. From 1964 until its exit from the organization in 2000, Jesuit Dallas was the most dominant team in the TCIL, winning the All Sports Championship Trophy a record 18 times, including five in its final six years.

PRESIDENT’S LETTER Dear Friends of Jesuit, It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Walsh Gym and the 2019-20 athletic season. As with all of the 100+ extracurricular activities our students enjoy at Jesuit Dallas, athletics make up an important part of our formational program. While the spiritual and academic formation of our students take priority, as Jesuit educators we place strong value on the formational life lessons learned on the playing fields, in the rehearsal halls, and as members of various clubs, teams, and organizations. The historical success of our athletics program has given us much for which to be thankful. Our students have been part of 121 state championship teams and have combined to win more UIL district titles than any other boys’ program in Texas over the last 10 years. We anticipate the upcoming year to be another full of great potential for our young men to grow, excel, and benefit from the rigors, challenges, and joys of a very competitive schedule. Thank you to our many benefactors, whose generosity enables our students to enjoy great facilities and programs that offer the finest environment for developing their talents; thank you to our alumni, who continue to be a great source of both inspiration and support for the School; and thank you to our volunteers, who work tirelessly in support of our mission. I am filled with both gratitude and pride by the opportunity that our devoted community affords our current and future student-athletes. I would like to remind us all that the success of any Jesuit athletic contest is not measured solely in the score, but in the positive impact these experiences have on developing each of our young men and adding to his formation in all areas described in the Profile of a Graduate; that he has availed himself of the opportunities provided by Jesuit, taken his Godgiven blessings and talents in all the areas of his being, and maximized these gifts in a life that reflects thanksgiving to a good and gracious God.
Blessings, Michael A. Earsing President, Jesuit Dallas

HEAD COACH CHRIS HILL Coach Hill enters his 12th season coaching Jesuit Dallas basketball after leading the Rangers to another wildly successful season last year. The Rangers earned the fifth district championship in program history with a 12-2 district record, finishing the season with a 29-6 overall record. Hill has led the Rangers to the postseason every year since the beginning of his tenure with Jesuit, including regional tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018. In addition, Hill has led the Rangers to a trio of district championships, earning his first district crown in 2010 before repeating the feat in 2014 and 2019. He enters the 2019-20 season with a 255-102 record as the head coach at Jesuit Dallas and a 119-35 mark against district opponents. Coach Hill graduated from Trinity University in 2002. A four-year member of a Tigers’ basketball program, Hill helped capture the Southern College Athletic Conference (SCAC) title in 2000. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in communications, Hill began his professional career at the University of Dallas as the assistant men’s basketball coach, head women’s basketball coach, head men’s and women’s tennis coach and assistant women’s lacrosse coach. After three years with the Crusaders’ athletic department, Hill returned to Trinity. From 2005-08, Hill helped the Tigers to a pair of NCAA Division III Tournament appearances before beginning his stint at Jesuit Dallas. A graduate from Tom C. Clark High School, Hill and the Cougars reached the UIL 5A Regional Semifinal his senior year. During his post-graduate year, Hill played at Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut, advancing to the New England Prep League Championship Tournament semifinals. Coach Hill and his wife, Amy, have been married for 10 years and have three children: six-yearold Addie, and four-year-old sons Bo and Joe.
