n the beginning of this year the Lord gave me the above promise that this year will be blessed exceeding abundantly. Our Lord, the Strength of Israel, has been our refuge for the past 11 months and as we start this last month let us give thanks to the Lord and praise Him for all the good gifts that He has bestowed upon us and for all the great things that He has done for us (Psalm 126:3). When the power of God works in us, His blessings on us will be exceedingly abundant. As the Lord told me in the beginning of this year, I prophesied saying, “He will do great works for us in exceeding abundance above all that we ask or think, according to His power”. Let us remember this in the beginning of December,

the last month of the year, and say, “Lord, thank You for doing according to Your promise.” As we continue to thank Him, the Lord will perfectly fulfill everything in your life in this last month according to the verse “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me” (Psalm 138:8). This verse denotes that, “The Lord will perfectly fulfill everything that needs to be fulfilled in my life”. You will enjoy these blessings this month.

EXCEEDING ABUNDANCE OF GRACE “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” (Romans 5:20)

Even though sinful passions, sinful thoughts and desires of sinful deeds tempted us throughout this year, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ multiplied in us and helped us to remain as His children despite being amongst the many temptations. That same grace is going to abound in you in the coming days. Apostle Paul cried out to the Lord to remove the thorn in his flesh as it troubled him a lot. It may have been a thorn that caused spiritual holiness to collapse or a thorn that caused physical weakness. But the Lord’s answer was, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Dear friend, when weakness takes hold of you don’t despair and don’t let negative thoughts overpower you. It is in such circumstances that you should realize that His grace is sufficient for you and that His strength is perfected in your weakness. Because the Lord will send His grace and that grace will descend on you and make intercession to the Father on your behalf. This is the wonder of His Grace!

WHAT IS THIS GRACE? “… but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” (John 1:17) The grace that is found in the blood of Jesus Christ will make us holy. The blood of Jesus will make His grace abound more where sin is abounding and transform us to be His children. It is that grace that makes intercession with the Father so that it may be well with us (Hebrews 12:24).

When we sin against the Lord, the Holy Spirit convicts us leading to confession, and Jesus with His blood, pleads with the Father that He has paid the price with His blood (1 Corinthians 6:20) and therefore to forgive us and strengthen us in our onward walk with the Lord. As the blood of Jesus keeps speaking on our behalf for our good, God’s grace will continue to abound in us.

THE LORD WILL MAKE THOSE WHO HAVE GRABBED BLESSINGS FROM YOU, TO COME AND GIVE THEM BACK INTO YOUR BOSOM IN GREAT MEASURES THAT THEY START RUNNING OVER. THE POWER OF THE LORD WILL ACCOMPLISH THIS As we look back over the current year, we can see that God’s grace abounded in us

in our personal lives and in our ministries. An in-depth investigative look into our own lives will show us that we are not where we began but there has been an upward growth in our walk with the Lord, albeit there is endless room for growth! So, let us say, “Lord, Your grace has made intercession on my behalf and enabled me to enjoy Your salvation in abundance this year, therefore I praise You, Lord”. That same grace and power will protect us throughout this month which completes this year. Dear Friends, each day, month and year takes us closer to that Day of which Jesus said, “The sun and the moon will be darkened and the powers of heaven shall be shaken; the stars are going to fall down. At this time, I will send my angel down and he will gather together those who are called by My name and bring them to me. So watch and pray so that you will be saved when these things come to pass” (Luke 21: 25, 26, 36; Matthew 24:31, 42, 44). Yes, let us watch and pray saying, “Lord, save me; I want to come to heaven”. Then the grace of God will descend mightily on you; His blood and His Spirit will make intercession to the Father on your behalf (Romans 8:26). God will give you the grace to go to heaven as you get united with the Lord Jesus. Since Jesus has borne your griefs and carried your sorrows on the cross, He Himself will grant you His power, fill you with His grace, make His blood to intercede on your behalf, and give you His matchless blessing of ‘holiness’. (Ephesians 3:20) and so, the Lord gives us exceeding abundance. His blessings are going to come in great measures during this last month of the year. So, say boldly, “Lord, I believe this”. Then, whatever blessings you have lost, all of them will be given back to you completely and in abundance.

EXCEEDING ABUNDANCE OF BLESSING "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." (Luke 6:38) According to the above Bible verse, the Lord says, “I will open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”. In addition to pouring out blessings on you through men, He will give you praise and fame and rewards in double portion in the same place where you were once put to shame (Zephaniah 3:19, 20; Zechariah 9:12).

and, behold, I am alive for evermore.” (John 11:25, 26; Revelation 1:17, 18) Jesus lives even today. He will quicken you and grant you all the blessings that there shall not be room enough to receive it for He has that sort of power in Him. The same Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead will surely dwell in you and quicken your mortal bodies (Romans 8:11). So, it is for sure that whatever you have lost will be quickened again. The Lord will quicken a double portion of everything that you lost; for He calls those things which are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). A child will be formed, a job will be formed, healing will be formed, organs in the body will be formed, relationships will be formed and family life will be formed; even more marks in studies and new scenarios and orders in business will be formed. Yes, blessings will be formed in exceeding abundance that there will not be room enough to receive them.

The Lord will make those who worked against you, people who have grabbed blessings from you, to come and give them back into your bosom in great measures that they start running over. The power of the Lord will accomplish this. When you seek the Lord’s power this month, the Lord will grant you blessings that overflow.

Isaac used to think of the Lord, meditate and pray in the morning and at eventide (Genesis 24:63). In order to fulfill what the Lord had said, he dug up wells of water. All the wells which his father Abraham had dug were filled with earth by the enemies and so he dug up those wells of water again. The Lord blessed him because of that and gave him water and opened a way for him to sow in the land. Isaac was able to receive and enjoy a hundredfold harvest that year due to the blessing of the Lord (Genesis 26:12, 13).

That same God will be gracious to you too, to receive a hundredfold reward in this last month of the year 2017. All the

harvest that you were not able to receive for the past eleven months will be granted to you. Believe that. Then, you will witness a hundredfold reward in your ministry, family life and in respect of physical and financial needs. A hundredfold blessing in the spiritual realm will also come in search of you. As you have taken shelter under the wings of the Lord God of Israel, He will give good things and perfect rewards to you. He united Ruth with Boaz who was a very wealthy man and created a good family life for her (Ruth 2:12). He also blessed them with a loyal son. David and Jesus were descendants belonging to his genealogy. Yes, surely your expectation shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18). Jesus is alive and He loves you. Tell Him, “Lord Jesus, You love me, You are the risen Lord, You are the living God, You will quicken me too, You will create things that are not present in my life. Thank You Lord.” Then, you will have exceeding abundance of His blessings.

EXCEEDING ABUNDANCE OF PEACE “For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you’. Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you, says the LORD And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 41:13,14) Jesus will chase out all the devils which trouble you and He Himself will help you. He will reveal His power to you and He Himself will do everything for

you in a perfect manner; He will cause peace to increase. When His disciples were going in a boat one day a storm with gusty wind raged and the boat was filled with water about to sink. The terror-stricken disciples panicked as they were in jeopardy. They could not understand why they faced this problem as it was Jesus who had sent them to go across the shore. But then they saw Jesus walking on the sea to meet them (Matthew14:22-25). Similar incident is recorded in Matthew 8:23; Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25 where Jesus rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. Beloved, you may be facing some form of storm in your life that is driving you to your wit’s end. Just allow Jesus to enter your boat and He will still the storm from your job, business or ministry and calm down everything. Peter remembering the earlier incident as to how the Lord gave a great number of fish (Luke5:3-10) trusted his boat to the Lord believing that the boat will reach the other shore without any problem and there was peace (John 6:21). In the same way the Lord will help you reach the other shore. Then the devils will cry out and flee. We read in the Bible that everyone who touched Jesus received miracles (Matthew 14:36; Mark 6:56). The same blessings and miracles are kept in store for you in the month of December. The Lord will grant you prosperous blessings in exceeding abundance and He will send His grace into your soul, in addition to His exceedingly abundant holiness. And He will calm all the storms that come in your life and fill you with exceeding abundance of joy and peace.

Bidar Prayer Festival, Karnataka - A report

or the first time ‘Jesus Calls’ Prayer Festival was conducted in the town of Bidar, northern Karnataka. The meetings were held at B.V. Bhoomaraddi College Ground from 13th to 15th October, 2017. In addition to the people from Bidar region, several people from surrounding regions like Gulbarga, Raichur and adjoining states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra took part in this Prayer Festival. As the rain clouds were about to burst out into a shower, the Lord heard the prayers of people and stopped the rain. Dr. Paul Dhinakaran and Sister Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran delivered God’s message and offered prayers in this Prayer Festival. Every day, approximately 60,000 people took part and were blessed. Many received physical healing, peace of mind, deliverance from problems and were anointed by the Holy Spirit. 8

My Name was Called… The TV remote was misplaced in our home and I started to doubt my brother-in -law’s child. As I was getting ready to attend the Jesus Calls Prayer Festival, I had guilt feeling in my heart that I am unnecessarily blaming a little child. As I was listening to the message of Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, God started moving within me and when the prayer time came, I prayed to the Lord, convicted of my shortcomings and requested the Lord for Dr. Paul Dhinakaran to call my name. Exactly as I prayed he called me by name and said, “Sarala, you have spoken evil about other people. Now the evil spirits have caught hold of you. But tonight, Jesus is delivering you Sarala, because you have wrongly accused a young little child. Right now the love of God is coming to you. Receive Him. Demons are leaving you Sarala. Come to the platform and glorify God.” As he prayed, I was totally delivered, repented and cleansed. Now the guilt is gone. My burden has left me and I am happy. Healed from Headache My daughter Stella suffered from a headache since her childhood. Medical treatments could not heal her. I have seen Dr. Paul Dhinakaran only in Television and so I came to this meeting with a longing to see him and to receive a miracle for my child. I was sitting in the last row and during prayer time Dr Paul Dhinakaran called my daughter’s name and said, “You have a problem in the head. The dizziness is being healed by the power of God. Stella, God heals you right now. Come and testify.” God answered my prayer and healed my daughter. Though my daughter had such a severe pain, I came with a determination to attend the meeting and said to myself that I will testify, and it happened exactly like that! Jesus knows everything about us I had back pain for the last 3 days. Last night, after work from Guntur I travelled the whole night and came to this meeting. Touch of God I had severe back pain and hip

pain. I came to this meeting in such a condition only. During prayer time God called my name through Dr. Paul. He said, “Srushti, God is healing you. You are being delivered from the witchcraft powers.” At that moment I felt somebody touching me and embracing me. God has healed me and delivered me completely. All glory to God. - Srushti, Bidar

Healed from Cancer During the last week of September, my mother Sarojana, 70 years old, had severe stomach pain and fever. We thought it was due to her old age. But this pain persisted every day. So, we took her to a gynaecologist in Bidar. The Doctor advised for an abdominal scan. The results revealed that it was cancer. We were heartbroken as a family. We then took her to Kakinada where my other sister lived and she admitted my mother in the hospital under her care. I came to know about the Jesus Calls Bidar Prayer festival and attended the 1st day meeting to pray for a miraculous healing for my mother. From the meeting venue, I called my sister and asked her to place the phone on my mother’s ear. During the prayer time, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran was praying for the sick people and for those affected by cancers telling “Cancers will be healed.” My mother heard the passionate prayers offered by Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. The next day, I attended the “Partners Meet” in the morning and met Dr. Paul during individual prayers. He prayed for my mother with burden and comforted me. That same evening the 2nd biopsy result came and it was mentioned that there is “NO CANCER.” The cancer biopsy test turned negative. The Doctors were amazed to see her without any traces of cancer cells in her body. What a miracle! My mother is completely healed and she is here on this 3rd day of the meeting as a living testimony. Our Lord Jesus is certainly an indescribable gift of God. Though He is God yet for our sake He came down to this earth

in human form. That is why it is such a marvelous event in the history of mankind and celebrated as Christmas all over the world. Even now when you whole heartedly give thanks to our God, for His wonderful gift of our Lord Jesus Christ, He will be so pleased and will fill your heart with His matchless joy. So, how should we celebrate this amazing festival of Christmas?

IT'S A THANKSGIVING FESTIVAL First, we need to be filled with the feeling of gratitude towards God and thank Him for giving us our saviour Jesus Christ. In the Bible, David says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1) Let us also give thanks unto the Lord like David does and then the joy of the Lord will fill our hearts. Even amidst sorrow and pain when we keep praising God, His joy will flow into our hearts. There was a family which celebrated Christmas in a unique way. They would allot a chair and a table for our Lord Jesus Christ and place a birthday cake on the table along with some candles. They will sing the birthday song to Jesus and cut the cake and celebrate around the table as if the Lord Himself was sitting on the chair. Once, a visitor came to their house and observed what this family did. He called a small child in the family and asked, “Dear child, have you brought all that you need to buy for yourself for this Christmas?” And the little girl replied saying, ”Sir, this is not my birthday. This is the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. So in order to make Jesus happy, I have bought many gifts to be given away to the poor children. I don’t need anything for Christmas.” What a moving reply! What a thankful way to celebrate Christmas! If that little child in that family could have so much of love for Jesus,

how much more will that family love the Lord? That is why they celebrated Christmas is such a wonderful way. Besides celebrating and enjoying ourselves during this Christmas, we could sing songs praising Jesus and help the poor people which will bring great joy to the Lord. This is the best way to show our gratitude for what He has done for us. This is what will make Christmas a true celebration of love. When we give unto the poor and make them happy, God will bless our family abundantly.

BESIDES CELEBRATING AND ENJOYING OURSELVES DURING THIS CHRISTMAS SINGING SONGS PRAISING JESUS, RENDERING HELP TO THE POOR PEOPLE WILL BRING GREAT JOY TO THE LORD. Even in our family when we celebrate the birthdays of our children, God is filling us

with joy. Once, we all prepared ourselves to celebrate the birthday of our son, Samuel. Since he is the first grandchild of our home, our family members were very happy. We planned to invite all our relatives and host a feast at home. But it was at that time my father, due to constantly thinking of my deceased mother, developed a sudden heart ache and we had to admit him in the hospital. It was at the same time that my spiritual father, Bro. D G S Dhinakaran was at home recovering after a heart surgery. Samuel Dhinakaran’s both grandfathers were not keeping well. Yet, even amidst these situations when we celebrated the birthday of our son Samuel, both of them were filled with immense joy. They forgot all their weaknesses as they took the child on their lap and petted him with hearts full of joy. And the little boy, Samuel too danced around his grandfathers and enjoyed the occasion. Even we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus on the day he became a man, leaving the glorious heaven. I wish you saying “let the same joy fill your heart too, during this Christmas season.”

FESTIVAL OF GOD’S PRESENCE WITH US “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (Matthew 1:23) God came as a human being in order to dwell with us. (Matthew 1:21). God was born into this world in the person of Jesus Christ just to save us from the evils of sin and to deliver us from all our trouble (Matthew 1:23) He came down to this earth not because He was poor but though He was the King of kings, He wanted to know how it feels to be a human and bear the sufferings of sin. So he took a very poor form of birth and was born in a manger. When Jesus was born, the shepherds were very joyful and they came to see Him. The wise men were filled with joy and worshipped Him. Let us also feel happy and enjoy the birth of our Lord. He came to this world with the only intention of saving us and helping us. He has said, “Lo! I am with you always, even unto the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).Yeah! Just for this one reason to save us, He gave up all His glory in heaven and came down to earth in flesh, to offer himself as a sacrifice for our sins (1 Timothy 3:16). Once there was a husband and wife. They bore a boy child. But in a few months after its birth, the child developed fits. The child could not talk to the parents; could not eat; could not drink or play. The parents of the child gave him the best of medical aid that they could give. Days passed by like this and the father of the child became exhausted taking care of the child and grew more frustrated. He looked at his wife and said, “For how long can we suffer with this child; how long can we bear the agony of seeing him suffer like this. So why don’t you take this child and give it away to some place. The mother could not bear those words and 14

that hurt her so deeply. She said, “In that case I will take this child and leave home and take care of this child. We will not trouble you anymore.” Saying this, she took the child away from the father and brought up the child by pouring out all her love and care. Under her love and care the child grew up and became better and better. The fits disappeared from the child’s life permanently.

We have a God who is always with you and in your work to give you success in all that you do. He will partner with you in all your endeavours and exalt you. The Lord always knows your hard work and your contribution to the society, family and the church. In this joyous month of Christmas, God will join hands with you and will help you succeed in life.

And that boy child grew up in good health and was filled with a heart full of gratitude to God. He began to share with everyone the love of God in his life and how God saved him and gave him good life. The boy grew up to be a great prophet and a powerful servant of God. He is none other than the prophet Benson Idahosa. Today he is shining like a star as one of the renowned preachers and is a channel of blessing to many people. Our Lord Jesus also came to dwell with us and help us fulfill God’s plan in our lives and so we need not get discouraged at

THE GOD WHO WORKS WITH US “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 6:38)

Even in our lives and in the ministry we see, feel and experience the Lord working with us. We are living just for the reason to bring blessing to all people; to pray for them and bring miracles and healing in their lives. And God too is honouring our dedication and giving us success in all that we do. Once in the town of Bhilai, I was ministering to families. During the prayer time, the Lord anointed me with His power. The power of God fell upon people and many received anointing of the Holy Spirit on that day. At that time, through the power of the Holy Spirit I said, “You are not only praying for yourself but you are also praying for the dear ones whom you have left behind at your homes. You are praying

for your relatives. God will touch and heal them too. You just thank Him for doing that. That is all you need to do. The Lord’s healing power will descend upon them”. There was one sister in the crowd who had come to the meeting to pray for her brother who was lying at home being mentally affected. At that time when I said, “Pray for your relatives; thank God for them” She too prayed for him and the Lord healed that brother from his mental condition and made him live healthy and happy. Later that sister wrote this testimony to me. God who did this miracle in this sister’s life will also do it in your life too. Maybe, you are praying fervently for one of your relatives or dear ones who is sick. My friend, during this Christmas season the healing

power of our Lord will descend upon those relatives and dear ones for whom you are praying. They will be healed and set free. The Lord Jesus has come down on this earth to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is victory (2 Corinthians 3:17). Therefore the Bible asks us to worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). The Lord is rich unto all those who call upon Him and worship Him (Romans 10:12). Yes! Our Almighty God is not only One who removes our weaknesses and diseases but He is also One who gives us all the riches and prosperity that we need. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His

poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9) Ye s ! E v e n a s w e a r e celebrating the birth of Jesus upon this earth, we are sure to get all the blessings we need in a very rich way. He came into this world to dwell with us, to unite with us and work and do miracles in our lives. So let us celebrate and worship the Lord, this season. Even as we keep praising and thanking our lord, His grace will always increase in us. Our God is long suffering, enduring in patience and full of compassion (Psalm 145:8). His grace will descend upon us throughout this month. Even as we worship the Lord this season, our Lord will hear our prayers deliver us from all our chains and bondages. He will fulfill our need and transform our poverty into prosperity.

THE EXPANDING PRAYER TOWER By God’s grace we were able to establish a Jesus Calls Prayer Tower in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on the 27th October. This is the 100th Prayer Tower of the Jesus Calls Ministry in India. Let us praise God for this establishment (Psalm 34:3).

BUILDING WORKS OF THE BENGALURU PRAYER TOWER Due to the increase in the inflow of people to the Bengaluru Prayer Tower and according to the leading of our Lord to expand the facilities to provide for the need of those who pour in, we have begun the efforts of expansion. LETTER MINISTRY IN BETHESDA Prayer Room and the Chapel; the first and the second floors will hold Auditoriums for prayer meetings. Further, in this Prayer Tower which spreads to about 40,000 sq.ft of space, we need to complete the works of Wall Erection, Painting and Fixing of Accessories. We are expecting these works to be completed within a year. We need Rs. 6 crores to complete the facilities of the Bengaluru Prayer Tower.

BUILDING WORKS OF THE TRIVANDRUM PRAYER TOWER There has been an urgent need to expand the facilities in the Trivandrum Prayer Tower. God has graciously enabled us to purchase a building which was situated at the back of the present Prayer Tower. We have planned to expand the present building and the new building which spreads to a total area of 53,000 sq ft. It has been planned to build it as four storey building apart from the basement and the ground floor. We are expecting these works to be completed within a span of 3 years. We need approximately Rs. 15 Crores to complete this building project.

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.” (Isaiah 6:1) God graciously enabled me and my wife to meet people in person at the Bethesda Prayer Centre. During those 3 days we stayed there, we felt the intense and powerful presence of God in that place. Even people who came there testified of experiencing God’s presence and their needs being met. Therefore we have planned to reply to people’s letters from this place where the presence of God is so intense and powerful. The Lord revealed this plan to us. So we are planning to reply all letters to our ministry seeking prayer and counsel from the Bethesda Prayer Centre. The Lord revealed to us that the replies sent after praying in this place of unlimited presence will take the blessings of God to the people. Including keeping of record of the donations received from people and to send prayerful replies to them, we have planned to conduct all the functions of correspondence officially from the Bethesda Prayer Centre. ‘Jesus Calls’ Prayer Festival was held at the Christ College School Ground in Napier Town, Jabalpur from 27- 29 October 2017 seeking God’s blessings on the people of Madhya Pradesh. Every evening large crowds of people eagerly came from in and around Jabalpur and the nearby States like Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh in addition to people from Madhya Pradesh. These three evening meetings were webcast live and countless people viewed through facebook.

Live telecast was on Sathiyam (Tamil) and Sadhana (Hindi) TV channels. The Karunyans took a major role in various events and during prayer time, anointed the people with oil and prayed for them. Seesha provided accommodation and free food (meals) for those who were in need. Dr. Paul Dhinakaran and Sister Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran delivered Godâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s message and offered special prayers for the people who gathered there. The Lord, on seeing the faith of the people, performed great miracles through His servants. Many were delivered from the clutches of the devil and many received healing and shared their testimony, thereby glorifying the name of the Lord. Family peace restored My husband Ajay was sentenced to imprisonment for 3 months due to unfair reasons. During that time I was awfully lonely. Only my in- laws were with me. No one else came to help me. Our Lord Jesus who is with us helped us. He showed us the way, for after 90 days he came out of the jail because I prayed and God heard my prayer. When I attended the Prayer Festival, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran called my name and prophesied saying, “Radhika, Jesus has touched you right now. Come to the platform. Your family life will be blessed from now on. Surrender your life totally into the hands of Jesus. The power of God is coming upon you and God is going to deliver you from your family problems and grant you peace.” About the same time I was also praying that the Lord should remove all the problems from my family. Total deliverance to the family Seven years ago, Satan started tormenting our family and wanted to kill us. My mother and father died due to witchcraft. At that time, in 2014, we tasted the love of God through Jesus Calls Television programmes. My wife Rampyari wanted to come to this meeting but I was hesitant because I have not com-

pletely come out from taking Gutkha. Yet on my wife’s persistence, we started our travel on 26th to attend this meeting. My wife had a miscarriage in the third month and the next child, though being full term was stillborn. Our family had to go through much sorrow because of this and so when our son Paul was born, we were extremely happy. Paul was a beautiful child when he was born and so not only we as parents, but also all our near and dear ones, my friends and my colleagues were happy. some said, “Paul”, some Pastors suggested the name “Faith” and some asked us to name him after his grandfather, “Appadurai”. So, in addition to these names, I had to add my name too and so we christened him with these five names. However, when we enrolled him in school, they noted down his name as “D.E.F. Paul Appadurai”. His friends at school teased him by calling him DEF Paul. Some even called him “Annadurai” and “Thambidurai”. My son was highly upset and waited patiently to complete his B.Sc. Soon after completing his degree course, Paul met one of my friends who was a Legal Secretary in Chennai at that time and requested him saying, “Uncle, please shorten my name to ‘Paul Dhinakaran’”. His name was changed just as he requested and

Recently a sister from Coimbatore had written a letter to me, with great joy. She had no child even after several years of married life. Having lost all the joy of a family life, she was in agony. to the Temple in Jerusalem (Luke 2:24). That time, a man called Simeon and an 84 year old woman named Anna, were waiting in the Temple. When the parents brought in baby Jesus, Simeon, who was filled with the Spirit of God, took Him up in his arms and said excitedly, “my eyes have seen Your salvation.” When Anna, the Prophetess saw Him, she was also filled with joy and began to thank and praise the Lord (Luke 2:38). Similarly, Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus said that he would not believe unless he personally saw the wounds of the resurrected Jesus. According to his wish, the Lord appeared to him and said, "Thomas, be a believer and not an unbeliever. Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" (John 20:24-29). My dear sisters, when we are distressed by the suffering of this world, we become troubled and get dejected easily and we lament, “There is nobody to help me in my tears; has the Lord too forsaken me?” However, the following Scripture clearly says that it is certain that God would grant His gracious presence to those who seek Him faithfully. “…you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13) Several years back, a couple from Saudi Arabia, who had absolutely no knowledge of Jesus had come to Vellore town for the wife’s medical treatment. That time, a man who met them said to them, “One Brother Dhinakaran is conducting the 36

Jesus Calls gospel meetings in a place called Kannanur in Kerala. Please go there and the Lord will heal your wife.” Hence the couple attended the meeting. The wife had cancer and was battling for life. Hearing this, my husband Bro. Dhinakaran and I met them one night in the hotel, prayed for her and retired to our room. When we went to the meeting the next evening, we were amazed to see her and her husband standing on the stage and sharing the testimony. After we had met them in the previous night, that sister had terrible pain in the body and suffered without any sleep. Her husband, who was awake till late night, had slept off. That time, a Person with a very bright countenance and wearing a white robe had entered into the room and placed His hands on her. He had further said to her, “Daughter, don’t worry! You would be healed of your disease after which you should start glorifying Me.” So saying He vanished! That’s all! After that she fell asleep like a baby. The next morning she had shared this with her husband and happily told him how she saw the Lord Jesus in person and how she was healed because of His touch. They were sharing this miracle before the multitude of people who had gathered there. My dear sister, Jesus, who was sent by God 2000 years ago, to give life to us, will come seeking you even today to make you happy in times of your sorrow and physical agony. He will appear to You; He will touch you; He will wipe away

your tears; He will make you happy.

Joy thru’ Him who is with us "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28) Having gone into Mary’s house, the Angel of God thus foretold many things to her. On hearing those words, her heart was filled with joy and she completely surrendered herself to the Lord saying, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38). After that she ran to Elizabeth and shared everything with her in detail and both of them rejoiced saying, “my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior” (Luke 1:47). "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." (Matthew 1:23) Yes, God being with us itself is a great joy for us! The whole world is under the sway of the wicked (I John 5:19). We live in an evil world (Galatians 1:4). Confusions like lack of love, jealousy, fights and quarrels, family problems are rampant in families. The reason for all these is that God is not with us. “When that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.” (I Corinthians 13:10) All of us are full of lacks. However, the more the presence of God is seen in us, the more His characteristics would come upon our lives. “…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffer-

ing, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, selfcontrol…” (Galatians 5:22,23) The Lord will grant us a life of spiritual fruits and rejoice over us. Like Mary, we too can sing joyously. A woman had nobody to help during her delivery time. Her parents and other family members had rejected her and her husband too was not near her. Deeply troubled as to what she would do since she had nobody to help her, she pleaded to the Lord saying, “Father, You are my father and mother. I believe that my help would surely come from You, who have made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). Please save me.” It was raining heavily that time and hence she wondered who would come and help her in the midst of the heavy rains. The next moment a great faith stirred up in her - “My Lord is great; He will never forsake me; He will surely send a help for me at this time of crisis…” In that instant an old lady knocked her door and the woman managed to open the door with great difficulty. The elder woman said, “Madam, it is raining heavily; I am very cold. Shall I come inside?” She invited her in and that lady who saw her condition, took charge of everything and fondly helped her in every way, treating her like her own daughter. She had an easy delivery without any difficulty and both the mother and child were safe. After everything was over, this woman searched for the old lady but she had vanished. She then understood that it was the Lord,

who had come in the form of an old woman, to help her and she profusely praised Him. "For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; …And I know that I will not be ashamed.” (Isaiah 50:7) “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) Yes, the Lord is with us. He would reveal Himself to us at critical times. He would save us; He would never forsake us.

Joy thru’ God’s children “…in honor giving preference to one another… Rejoice with those who rejoice.” (Romans 12:10,15) Christ the Saviour who was born in this world two thousand years ago, will come in your midst to deliver you from problems and to bring you great joy. You would see Him. He will make you happy in every way. Soon after the Angel of God had met her, Mary hastened to Zachariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. They might have thus met each other on earlier occasions too. However, on that day, hearing the greeting of Mary, the babe in Elizabeth’s womb, leaped (Luke 1:41). Elizabeth too was filled with joy and being filled with the Holy Spirit, she happily said, even without her knowledge, ‘"But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” (Luke 1:43). Yes, how exciting it is when the children of God meet

each other! A woman, who had accepted the Lord as her Saviour, was praying with tears in God’s presence. That time the Lord reminded her of the name of another woman. After finishing the prayer, she had a great burden to meet that woman. So she went to her house and knocked the door. That woman opened the door after a long time and she appeared to be sad. This woman asked whether she could step in and she agreed half heartedly. Once she went in, she explained to her how she had a burden to meet her. On hearing her words, that woman’s face changed and she came near her and said with tears, “Madam, if you had come a little late, you would have seen only my dead body. I could not bear the burdens of my family and decided to end my life. As I was preparing to commit suicide, you knocked at my door. Is there a life for me?” The godly woman comforted her saying,“My dear sister, the Lord Jesus was incarnate in this world, to give life to people like you. Hand over your worries to Him. Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you… (Psalm 55:22). Even in my life, I have encountered scores of sorrows and grief. Yet the Lord led me by His hand. He would lead you too. Don’t worry” and with these God given words, she prayed for her with tears. A divine peace and comfort filled that woman’s heart. Her weary face brightened. The Lord Jesus Christ being born in this world, is a great joy for all the people. Christ wants you to have this joy every day and not in the days of Christmas alone. For this purpose alone the God of gods

Gullible Priya trusted only on the Lord and Shalini was dreaming to deliver a bonny boy baby. However, she felt upset that her child was too small and frail looking. Priya delivered a girl baby after a week. Actually her family had desired for a male child since there was no boy baby in her family until then. Shalini was happy that her fears that Priya would be blessed with a boy baby did not come true. But her happiness lasted only for three months. Both went back to their in-laws’ place. On that same day Shalini visited Priya to see how her child was. She was taken aback to see Priya’s fair, chubby and doll like baby. How come she, who was not fair complexioned as her, could have such a fair child? How come, she, who could not take any food during pregnancy, had given birth

to such a bonny and healthy child? Jealousy devoured her. She was all the more upset that she, who had healthy food and good care, had delivered a frail and weak boy bay. ‘You said you didn’t take saffron; you didn’t even take fruits… In that case, how is that you have a chubby child? Priya, I think you’ve lied to me….’ She said to Priya. “Oh! No... don’t you know Shalini, how I suffered unable to eat anything?...” “How come your baby is chubby? I guess you might have eaten something special… You’ve hidden it from me…..” She burst out in annoyance. “No, no, not at all…. Ask my husband. It is the Lord Jesus, who has given me such a beautiful baby….” Shalini did not pay any heed to her words; neither did she feel like cuddling the baby. She charged out of the house. She took out all her frustrations on her boy baby. She did not visit Priya’s house for the next 6 months. Both the families decided to visit the School for the Mentally Retarded Children to attend their cultural programme on Christmas day and enjoy that day by providing those children food and by spend-

The wonderful songs and the dances, particularly a dance by twin girls enthralled the crowd. The children’s parents were also there. It was said that the children did not prefer to go to their well off parents and hence the parents had to come and see them in the hostel. Everyone was moved to hear this. “Don’t we have Christian love in us? Isn’t it a waste to call ourselves as Christians and celebrate Christmas without divine love? It is meaningless to live without Christ being born in our hearts and without His nature in us….” The hostel warden’s words totally transformed Shalini’s life that day.
