From Humble Beginnings Virco first opened its doors in Los Angeles on 2 February 1950 as a business dedicated to providing durable, innovative furniture and exceptional service to schools in the post-World War II era. At that time Virco had only one client: the Los Angeles Unified School District. Today, powered by our modern, efficient domestic factories, Virco’s operations are still going strong. With a 52,025 squaremeter headquarters facility in Torrance, California and over 185,806 square meters of operational space in Conway, Arkansas, we’re exceptionally well positioned to serve you. And – over 60 years later – Virco is still the primary supplier to America’s second largest school district, Los Angeles Unified. Virco’s Conway Plant 2 has dock doors for 108 trucks at its 74,322 square-meter distribution center. There are two additional facilities in Conway, Arkansas.

Virco’s KD shipping program enables our international dealers to order Virco components from our U.S. factories for local assembly. This innovative program saves on shipping costs by reducing the cubic dimensions of products, sometimes requiring only one-half the normal container space. Additional benefits include: support of the local economy by utilizing local labor for final assembly; lower product costs; potential tariff and tax savings; and the ability to sell more colors and options to your customers.
We live in a diverse world with differing climates and seasonal patterns. And just as buildings throughout the world are designed with local climatic conditions in mind, school furniture can be adapted to the needs of a region or country, particularly where rust is a problem for steel-frame furniture.
All Virco products are covered by our 10 year limited warranty. You can feel secure that when you purchase from Virco you are getting the very best furniture and equipment, made in our U.S. factories, tested to industry standards for strength and durability, and backed by Virco’s 10 year limited warranty.
With sales to customers in 75 countries, Virco’s steel-frame furniture products are available with a specially formulated rustinhibiting powder coat paint that’s great for non-climate-controlled schools in wet, humid or seaside areas. Just specify RUST GUARD and we’ll take care of the rest.
Custom Hard Plastic Logo Top Program With custom-imprinted hard plastic desk tops, your classroom furniture can really make a statement! Virco’s advanced compression-molding technology now enables us to embed logos and other artwork directly into our proprietary Fortified Recycled Wood™ hard plastic work surfaces. Now you can customize desk tops with your school’s logo as an expression of school spirit and pride, or you can enhance work surfaces to highlight curriculum offerings and inspire students. The possibilities are virtually limitless!
In 2009, the Panamanian Ministry of Education selected Virco to provide furniture for the country’s schools. After deciding to standardize on the popular 9000 Classic Series™ tablet arm unit, Virco customized the desktops with the department’s logo.
