2018-2019 FunArtFaktory AFTER-SCHOOL RECREATION PROGRAM

FAQS How do I register my child for ASRP? You can register your child ONLINE, by filling and submitting the ASRP Registration Form on the designated page on our website, along with the Registration Fee and your chosen Program Payment. You can also schedule an IN-PERSON registration appointment with our ASRP Program Director or Program Coordinator. In-person Registration will be available by appointment only. It will be required for you to physically sign all applicable forms, agreements and waivers, as well as the Payment Authorization Form. We must receive a full Registration Packet before any child can attend our program. We suggest you schedule your in-person appointment no later than 5-7 business days prior to your child’s starting day. For your in-person appointment, we will have your completed forms printed and ready for you to fill and sign. Your child will not be admitted to the program until we have these registration materials on file, even if your entire payment is paid in full.

When does the registration period begin? We advise you register your child ahead of time to secure a spot for your desired period of after-school program. Registrations and Drop-ins are available throughout the whole school calendar year 2018-2019 based on need and space availability. Visit our ASRP Page and Registration Form

What do I need to bring for the in-person registration appointment? At the time of appointment, or on the first day of your child’s program, you MUST bring the child’s Physical examination within the last six months, showing all immunizations up-to-date as well as any special medical conditions. This medical form is to be completed by the child’s physician. Additionally, if your family has any custody arrangements, make sure you provide a copy of the arrangement to your ASRP Program Director. We want to ensure that we’re in compliance with all court orders.

Is the registration fee per child? Yes, the $45 Registration Fee is per child registered.

My work schedule is irregular. Can I change the number of days my child attends from week to week? No. ASRP cannot accommodate week to week changes to schedules if you are registered for the full year or month program. However, it is possible for the parent/guardian to register on a Daily/Monthly Basis and/or Drop-In, which allows for more flexibility. If this is the case, a request in writing must be made at least 2 school days in advance before the date of service.

How can I pay for the ASRP? Program payment can be made in full or in installments, month-by-month, or occasionally for Drop-ins. You must submit your registration fee and full payment along with your filled and signed application. You must provide credit card information along with the registration form for program fees and any additional charges, including but not limited to Registration Fee, Failed Transaction Fee, Chargeback Fee, Administrative Fee, Late Payment Fee, Late Pick Up Fee, Drop-in Fee, Change Fee, Material fees, and any other fees for applicable activities. Full Year Program Payment: If you pay in full at the time of registration, your registration fee will be waived. You must submit your full payment along with the Registration Form. Full Year Program Monthly Installments: Installments are the total program payment due throughout 9 months. Each installment is an equal amount and does not reflect the number of program days in a given month. The first installment is due at the time of registration and each subsequent installment payment will be due and automatically deducted on the 5th, or closest business day, of each month. The final installment will be charged on May 5, 2019. Month-by-month or Daily Drop-ins: Month-by-month or Daily Drop-in registrations are available based on need and space availability. You must submit Registration Form and Registration Fee along with the according chosen program attendance payment.

I pre-registered for a Daily/Monthly Program, and would like to enroll my child in additional days/months. Is that possible? How would it affect my payment due? You may add additional days at any time by submitting the respective Daily/Monthly Payment and if space allows. Ask the Program Director or Program Coordinator for the cost of the additional day(s) or check our website at anytime. Each 1 DAY/Week Program is billed at $850/Year & $120/Month and each 5 DAYS/Week Program is billed at $3550/Year & $400/Month. Payment will be prorated if starting after the start of the program year. You may add additional ASRP days without incurring a Change Fee.

I pre-registered and would like to drop days. Is that possible? Yes. Per our Program Agreement, you may reduce, add, or change scheduled days for your child’s participation in the program by a written in advance notice to your ASRP Program Director/Coordinator. Any change requests must be made in writing at least 2 school weeks before the student’s last day of attendance. This includes, but is not limited to, reduction in program days. Dropping/cancelling days WILL NOT change the installment for the month in which the change was requested. If dropping/cancelling prior to your child’s first day of participation, you will receive a refund in the amount of the total program fees you paid LESS the Registration Fee and one month of program fee. There will be a $20 Change Fee for any change. You may add additional ASRP days without incurring a Change Fee.

RECREATION PROGRAM What do the children do each day? Each day, ASRP provides children with 15-30 minutes socializing plus organic snack and juice, 15 minutes creative movement/sports activity, 30 minutes quiet reading and/or story-telling, 60 minutes enrichment/recreational group activity and 30-45 minutes active indoor free-play, pear-play and games.

How big are the enrichment group activities? Our program has a limited policy of 20 seats maximum in total at all times, which will ensure individualized and personalized attention. Children may be divided in groups based on age, grade and/or activity.

What is your student to teacher ratio? Our teacher:student ratio is 1:7 for most of the program activities and oftentimes is 1:5 for all children..

Can my child attend ASRP on a day he’s not regularly scheduled to attend? Yes. You can schedule and register for a Drop-In Day with at least 2 school days’ notice required before the date of service and if space allows.

Can my child bring a cell phone or electronic games to ASRP? Consistent with program rules, children are not allowed to use electronic games or cell phones during ASRP.

I’d like to volunteer – what should I do? We have opportunities for parent volunteers. Let us know of your strengths and interests, and we will match them with the program’s needs.

When can I visit my child’s program? Parents/Guardians of children in our program are entitled to visit their children whenever they are at FunArtFaktory ASRP, with a prior notice, in order to prevent activity disruption. Children may depart from the recreation program any time the parent/guardian, or person authorized by the parent/guardian, arrives at the site. Whoever picks up the child must come INSIDE the facility and sign out the child. The sign-out consists of signing your name and what time the child leaves the site. Staff will not allow children to leave with someone who has not been authorized by the parent/guardian; nor can they allow children to sign themselves out of the program. Staff may also ask for identification if they are unfamiliar with the person picking up the child. If you are going to be late picking up your child, please call the After-School Recreation Program Director/Coordinator at (718) 274-2200, so we can prepare your child and arrange for his/her pick-up. Families and friends are invited to the open showcase session in December at the end of the Fall cycle, and to the showcase held in June at the end of the Spring cycle. We hope you can make it! Everyone enjoys this celebration of the children’s hard work and creativity. We otherwise suggest that parents do not come during activity time, as it can be disruptive.
