Screen impresses at IGAS Tokyo

After a four year wait, IGAS (Japan’s premier graphic arts show) was back in Tokyo on the 24-28th of November. Held at Tokyo’s Big Sight exhibition centre, visitor numbers were impressive, with a steady stream of local and overseas visitors.

Screen GP displayed an impressive array of digital equipment, showcasing their credentials as a leading manufacturer of inkjet and digital devices.

The L350UV SAI S has been recognised as one of the bestselling digital presses in the narrow-web space and was displayed, attracting strong interest. The L350UV SAI S is the second-generation of Screen’s narrow web press and has a growing list of installations around the world, from Europe to America and now more and more throughout SE Asia and Australasia.

Screen also demonstrated their new prototype Pac520P, high-speed inkjet press aimed at paper and carton printers. Operating with high resolution water-based inkjet, the press was very impressive with its high operating speed (75m/min) and stunning print results.

The press was first demonstrated at the FachPack exhibition in Germany to strong acclaim and was equally well received in Tokyo. Whilst no release date has been set, there are expectations that it may not be too far away due to Screen’s experience with the same 520 print engine used in their publishing andtransactional markets.

Screen GP is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan – a city known for its temples and beauty. Japan has a long history of respecting the environment and producing extremely high-quality reliable equipment.
