ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
“Architecture forms a vital link between people and their surroundings. It acts as a gentle buer between the fragility of human existence and the vast world outside." - Kengo Kuma
Hello, I am Jevan Choo. I am an Architecture student and I am very passionate about both Architecture and Humanitarian Architecture because architecture is so much more than just buildings. I believe architecture has the power to both change and impact the lives of people and the environment.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Architecture to me is about transforming something intangible into something tangible. Ideas and concepts are generated from the human passion and need. I believe that form follows function, and that architecture is only successful if it serves the function in improving the lives of the people, community and environment.

PARK OF CONTEMPLATION
PARK OF CONTEMPLATION
Location Year
: Duxton Plain Park : 2019
This project aims to create a space for the community around the Duxton Hill Park, where nature and the community can meet. The site is located in the heart of Chinatown and Outram Park which is rich and diverse in culture. During the early mornings and evenings, one will be able to observe people practicing martial arts such as Tai Ji, Wushu etc. This park connector acts as a space where those practicing their martial arts can have a quiet place for meditation and contemplation. There is also a more public space with a stage to showcase their talents which can educate park goers about the culture here in Singapore.

This park connector not only acts as a connector to nature, but also to the culture here in Singapore and for the users using the space to contemplate on past memories and to evoke a greater awareness to the social and urban fabric around Chinatown and Outram Park.
The roof has special openings that open to views. Each view represents a landmark around the area which has a special signiďŹ cance and familiarity to the community. Each space evokes a dierent sense of emotions and memories, thus encouraging the user to contemplate whilst being surrounded by nature.
