ABOUT JAYBACKERS Nearly 3,000 families and businesses joined as Jaybackers in 2017-18. Since 1996-97, the Jaybackers Program has more than quadrupled in membership and gifts have increased from $376,000 in 1996-97 to the $5 million contributed last year.

The Jaybackers Program provides broad-based support for Creighton Athletics by providing funding to offset the increasing costs associated with competing at the highest level of Division I athletics. Through the years, the Jaybackers Program has touched the lives of many Bluejay student athletes – young women and men who have worked to balance academic and athletic excellence. Some have gone on to represent Creighton University in professional athletics, many more have earned a college degree and the means to pursue successful careers.

Unless someone passes the ball, star athletes cannot score. Your loyalty to the Jaybackers Program provides the perfect assist so that we may recruit, retain, develop and graduate outstanding student-athletes and lifelong leaders. For more information about becoming a Jaybacker, contact the Creighton Athletic Development Office by phone at 402-280-GIVE (4483) or by e-mail at AthleticDevelopment@creighton.edu.

The long-range goal of the Jaybackers Program is to raise 100 percent of the money needed to annually fund the Creighton Athletics’ budget. The Jaybackers Program currently only covers a fraction of the amount needed to supplement the scholarship and operating costs of the athletic department. Your membership ensures the future growth and success of all 14 athletic programs.

ABOUT OUR PRIORITY SEATING POINT SYSTEM, RANKING & SEAT LOCATION IMPROVEMENT During its men’s basketball season ticket renewal phase (months of June through September), Creighton Athletics uses its priority seating point system to determine the ranking list of accounts and who is contacted should “better” seats become available (“better” is defined as seats that are closer to the middle of the court or closer to the arena floor). Season tickets that become available during the renewal phase due to cancellations or due to Jaybackers decreasing their amount from last year are made available to season ticket holders in priority seating point system ranking order who can either purchase the season tickets or decline the option. Men’s basketball priority seating points can only be obtained by payments to the following Jaybacker allocations: General Fund, Men’s Basketball, Coaching Excellence, Leadership, Scholarships, Sixth Man Club or any athletics endowed scholarship that is available to all student-athletes. Please note that payments to these men’s basketball allocations is not transferable for other CU athletic program Jaybacker benefits. All accounts – those with lower bowl seats or upper bowl seats or those with both as well as first-time season ticket purchasers in 2018-19 or multi-year purchasers – are given a ranking based on point accumulation. Points are then used to rank each account within each of the 10 Jaybacker levels (Legend through Go Blue) as well as ranking the group of season ticket holder accounts that are not Jaybackers.

The five parts of the point system are: 1. 10 points for every consecutive year as a men’s basketball season ticket holder (maximum of 10 years including the 2018-19 season). 2. 5 points for every $100 paid to Jaybackers over the last five years (excluding the 2018-19 season). 3.

10 points for every $100 paid to Jaybackers (General Fund, Men’s Basketball, Coaching Excellence, Leadership, Scholarships, Sixth Man Club or any athletics endowed scholarship that is available to all student-athletes) as a 2018-19 Jaybacker member.

4. 10 points for being a Creighton University alum (account holder, spouse or children, 10 points maximum).

5.

10 points for a documented planned gift commitment naming Creighton Athletics as the beneficiary (account holder or spouse, 10 points maximum). Such gifts would include, but not limited to, wills or trusts, charitable gift annuities or beneficiary designations.
