ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT Major Gifts Program

The new level of competition in the BIG EAST Conference has required Creighton Athletics to commit additional resources due to the rising costs of scholarships, escalating travel expenses, capital projects and staffing requirements. The new Athletics Major Gifts Program includes a number of new initiatives including the BIG EAST Fund, Creighton Athletic Endowment Fund and the Heritage Society-Creighton University’s planned giving program. The program also features current athletic capital projects that house and support Bluejay student-athletes. Gifts of $25,000 or more allocated to any initiative within the Major Gift Program may qualify for select naming opportunities for facilities, programs or scholarships. Under the University’s 501(c)(3) status, all major gifts made towards Creighton Athletics are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

The new Creighton Athletics BIG EAST Fund represents our proactive response to the Conference’s extraordinary recognition of our athletic program’s excellence. The Fund will provide resources to offset the increase in competition and costs associated with BIG EAST travel and Cost of Attendance ensuring Creighton Athletics upholds a winning tradition on conference and national stages.

Athletic Endowment Fund

Creighton student-athletes, coaches and staff know it takes more than great skills to become an outstanding competitor. It also takes endurance. The Creighton Athletic Endowment Fund will build endurance into Creighton Athletics, creating a perpetual source of support and generating revenue to sustain athletic scholarships.

Heritage Society for Athletics

To pay tribute to those who share the vision of our founders, the Creighton University Heritage Society has been established. To make a planned gift to benefit Creighton Athletics and become a member of the Heritage Society, simply mail a copy of the portion of your will, trust, life insurance policy or other beneficiary designation form pertaining to your bequest to the Office of Estate and Gift Planning.

Capital Projects

Major Gifts can also be made to current capital projects including the Championship Center, Golf Learning Facility, Ryan Athletic Center Players Lounge and the Kitty Gaughan Pavilion Renovation project.

GAME BALL DELIVERY SPONSOR:

Held annually in late January, Creighton Men’s Basketball teams up with the American Cancer Society and sponsors in the fight against cancer. Regularly drawing upwards of 18,000 fans, the annual Creighton vs. Cancer Pink Out Game has become one of the staples of each season. In the four years the event has been held more than $110,000 has been raised in support of this great cause. Operation Bluejay

Creighton University is dedicated to serving the community. In 2014-15, Creighton student-athletes completed over 3,000 community service hours. Through the assistance of sponsors, over 250,000 game vouchers are distributed to schools and organizations each year, giving youth and their families the opportunity to experience a Creighton event, free of charge. Pricing will be determined based on CPM’s (cost per 1,000 impressions) as well as the particular location requested by advertiser.
