THE TOP 10 STORIES OF THE SEASON From headliners and heads of state to hurricane relief, it was a memorable campaign year for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, marked by record-setting fundraising, newsworthy achievements and compelling storylines. Before the start of the 2005-2006 season, the Federation introduced its “Our Community, Our World, Our Responsibility” theme, spotlighting Federation programs that make such a big difference locally and overseas. We pledged to stand strong for Israel, fight antiSemitism, rescue Ethiopian Jews, battle hunger and poverty and bolster Jewish education. Our generous community answered the challenge with a record total of nearly $21 million to date.
Hat’s Off (Women’s Division) The Women’s Division installs new officers and pays tribute to those responsible for a 20.6 percent increase in donations.

The Federation also proved that it can respond promptly to unexpected events, collecting $400,000 for Hurricane Katrina victims on the Gulf Coast and caring for senior citizens in our area who were victimized by Hurricane Wilma.
