Healthy Hanukah and New Year greetings to Hadassah members and associates!
Joyce Toub, Collier/Lee Hadassah President
Our Collier/Lee chapter is thriving with many new members and lots of activities planned for the coming year. At last November’s “Keeping the Faith” luncheon, a new leadership was elected to serve in 2024. Our new Presidents Council includes Janett Edelberg, Diane Schwartz and me. If you are interested in sharing your talent, contact us to join a committee or attend a Board meeting at 10:30 a.m. on the first Monday of most months at JFGN.
To receive the chapter’s “Hadassah Happenings” e-bulletin and e-blasts, kindly contact collierleehadassah@ gmail.com.
Save the date
Monday, Jan. 8 will be the Installation of Officers at “Brunch and Broadway” at the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center, 4630 Pine Ridge Rd., Naples. Registration information appears in “Hadassah Happenings.”
On Sunday, March 3 at 11 a.m., Collier/Lee Hadassah will honor our Inspiring Women of 2024 — Gayle Dorio, Ellaine Rosen and Sunny Lubner — at the Audubon Country Club, Naples. These women epitomize leadership skills, experience and generosity of time in our community. This fundraiser benefits the life-affirming work of Hadassah Medical Organization.
Globally, Hadassah maintains two tertiary care hospitals in Jerusalem, enrichment programs for youth at risk and local efforts such as donating feminine hygiene products for women who cannot afford these basic items. Our chapter also collects ongoing essentials and donates them to The Friendship Project in support of The Shelter for Abused Women & Children in Naples.
If you are new to our community and wish to join or transfer your membership, join a book group or form an interest group in Fort Myers, Estero or Bonita Springs, kindly contact: collierleehadassah@ gmail.com. Contact membership@ hadassah.org for Hadassah Magazine to follow you here.
Finally, deepest gratitude to the many who rushed extra donations to Hadassah during the crisis campaign. Both our Ein Kerem and Mt. Scopus campuses received the most severely injured since Oct. 7, 2023. In addition to the 1 million patients Hadassah treats annually, costly post-surgical treatment, pediatric patients with special needs, PTSD and physical rehabilitation will continue to require the generous resources you provide. If you are in a position to donate through a trust, donor advised fund or IRA distribution, be sure to include your Member ID# (on Hadassah Magazine label), your full name, address and project this donation supports (i.e., Keeper of the Gate, Chai Society, HMO or greatest need).
