By Sara Salkin, Puder PR, New York
The 10th episode of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) philanthropic initiative “FIDF LIVE” broadcast featured Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers protecting Israel’s borders and the various threats they face at each one. The episode also highlighted the soldiers who took part in the recent Operation Guardian of the Walls.
The episode featured Cpt. Erez, who is the commander of a Super Dvora Patrol Boat, part of the 916th Squadron, whose mission is to protect Israel’s maritime border. Also joining him were Maj. Chai and Lt. Moshe from the Rotem Battalion in Givati Brigade, both stationed in the Gladiola post, Israel’s northernmost outpost located on the border with Lebanon.
Also taking part in the episode were Cpt. Ilan, a company commander in the Taoz Battalion, part of the IDF Military Police, who is stationed at the MaccabimCrossing, and 2nd Lt. Sara, an Iron Dome company commander in the 947th Battalion.
Updating on the southern border were Sgt. Ya’ira, IDF combat Lone Solider from Canada, and Sgt. Hillel, IDF combat Lone Solider from Australia, who both serve in Caracal, a coed infantry battalion along Israel’s border with Egypt.
The “FIDF LIVE” platform, hosted by American stand-up comedian and author Joel Chasnoff, is a high-level production broadcast experience that provides an alternative to in-person experiences and brings awareness of FIDF’s cause and activities to a broader audience. FIDF LIVE airs on FIDF’s website every other week at 8:30 p.m. (ET).
One of the main objectives in introducing content through this platform is keeping the community’s connection with Israel alive and thriving. FIDF has always been a bridge between Americans and Israelis; this virtual experience continues that tradition in a novel way, serving as the place for everyone who loves Israel and wants to stay connected and in the know.
