Saving lives, now and forever – thanks to your partnership!

Just $75 will provide a larger Family LifeStraw that can purify more than 4,755 gallons.
In impoverished Jewish communities the world over, your gifts provide people with clean, safe, life-giving water.
Drinking filthy water is a choice no one should have to make. So please rush your best gift now.
Everyone needs water to live. In some parts of the world, people (usually women) must walk for hours each day to collect water for their families.
And as you give, remember that God has promised to bless you when you bless the Jewish people, especially those who are oppressed and impoverished.
In our work in developing countries the world over, we regularly see that many Jewish communities do not have access to clean water. In remote areas where we’ve found descendants of ancient Jewish tribes, access to any water is often limited. And the water that is available is not clean – which means it is the source of a wide number of diseases that debilitate and kill.
3 easy steps to bless a Jewish person today!
Unclean water has caused more deaths than all the wars in history combined.
A terrible choice: drink dirty water or go thirsty?

needed water to drink. Those living in the village were so desperate, many would scoop out shallow depressions in the stream bed to collect water for drinking. But drinking this bad water caused children in the village to suffer from a variety of intestinal problems. They also tended to have skin rashes.
“Having clean water is a very big gift for us.” – Colin, Messianic congregation leader According to Colin, a local Messianic congregational leader, these health issues have now been resolved – by using LifeStraw filters provided, with your help, by Jewish Voice Ministries. LifeStraws are simple, low-cost but extremely effective water filters that remove 99.9% of all bacteria, parasites and solid particles as small as two microns.
This means a LifeStraw will remove almost all diseasecausing contaminants from any water source. For 51 years, Jewish Voice Ministries has been caring for the many needs of Jewish people around the world. One of the ministries we believe God has called us to is to provide clean water in their remote communities around the world. Providing clean water through LifeStraws – and ensuring greater health and freedom from disease – is itself a worthy service. But in the Jewish communities we serve, it means even more than that.
Earning trust, opening doors, transforming lives Jewish people in the communities in which we serve are often persecuted and oppressed because of their beliefs and heritage. So they’re slow to trust people who come from the “outside.” But when Jewish Voice shows compassion by providing them with access to healthy water, they become more open. In this way, we find that LifeStraws, which can help save people physically, can often open the door for us to share Living Water – the Good News of the Messiah who can bring them salvation forever. Your gifts provide clean, safe drinking water for Jewish people in impoverished communities.
By Jonathan Bernis
At first glance, it may seem odd that Jewish Voice Ministries is in the business of providing clean water to Jewish people in remote areas around the world. But actually, it makes perfect sense! Through more than five decades of ministry, Jewish Voice has always worked to show love and compassion to Jewish people – in whatever ways we can, wherever in the world they may be. We do that by helping elderly Holocaust survivors, providing medical and dental care to Jewish descendants of the “Lost Tribes of Israel” in Africa, supporting the State of Israel, and helping plant and encourage Messianic congregations. And, along with these other ministry efforts, we also provide LifeStraws – simple filters that can remove disease-causing contaminants, giving people healthy water to drink. So WHY would Jewish Voice Ministries be so concerned about giving Jewish people healthy water to drink? Two reasons:
• As Messianic Jewish Believers, we believe absolutely in introducing Jewish people to their Messiah. But this is sometimes difficult in Jewish communities that have suffered persecution. Showing compassion breaks down barriers and helps people open up to the Good News. As a theologian who has spent my adult life studying God’s Word, I know for certain that God has very special plans for His chosen people, the Jews. But to teach them about this plan, and to invite them into a personal relationship with Yeshua, we first must be willing to show compassion – including giving “to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water” (Matthew 10:42). So please pray for the Jewish people. And pray also for us here at Jewish Voice, as we seek to be God’s hands and voice to help serve the Jewish people, to provide them with clean water, and to bring them to faith in the Messiah who loves them.
This dangerous killer still stalks impoverished communities About 1.8 million people – mostly children – are killed each year by diarrhea caused by contaminated water. But diarrhea is far from the only danger. Cholera, dysentery, hepatitis, typhoid, salmonellosis and a host of deadly illnesses also stalk people in developing parts of the world who are forced to drink unclean water. Almost unbelievably, 4,000 children die every day from diseases caused by dirty water and lack of sanitation. Almost 1 billion people around the world have no access to clean drinking water. And nearly 3 million people in developing countries die each year from water-related illness. In addition to all of this unnecessary sickness and death, waterborne illnesses mean children often are unable to attend school, so their education (and their future) suffers.
30512-Newsletter-AB.indd 2
• During His earthly ministry, Yeshua (Jesus) showed concern for the physical needs of the people He met. As His children and followers, we are called to do likewise. Providing clean water is an important part of that.
Sickness among adults makes it difficult for them to work, grow food or care for their children. And in many cases, people – especially women – spend much of the day fetching water from distant sources. That means less time to care for family needs. And all of this could be prevented – if only clean water was available to communities in need.
