Speaking of dedication, I am ever mindful of the dedication that our Jewish Voice staff and team of volunteers have shown throughout the year as they have faithfully ministered the love of God in the power of the Spirit to tens of thousands of ailing bodies and searching souls in the name of Jesus, the Messiah. God is pouring out His blessings upon the scattered remnant of Israel living in remote places in Africa and India with His healing touch and mighty presence. He continues to demonstrate His faithfulness and grace, enabling us to treat even more patients at our clinics this year than last year. As I write this, we are concluding our clinic outreach in Gondar, Ethiopia. To date this year, we have treated 39,539 and have witnessed 9,913 precious people (Jews and non-Jews alike) commit their lives to the Lord. And, with one final clinic to go, we expect to have even more good news as we finish the year. Your prayers and financial partnership have made this all possible and we are forever grateful. Together, we are making an eternal difference in the lives of Jewish People around the world. May the Lord continue to bless our work together as we dedicate ourselves to reach even more precious souls in 2014! And may He bless you richly for being an instrument of blessing to the Jewish People! Your partner to the Jew first and also to the Nations,

Report From the Field: Mberengwa, Zimbabwe A Toddler Walks . . . for the First Time His mother carried him into the Prayer Room. Expressionless and quiet, the boy was not behaving like an average three-year-old who would more likely be darting off here and there with curious enthusiasm. This little boy had never walked. He’d been paralyzed on his right side all of his life. Carried everywhere by his mother, he was a toddler who couldn’t even toddle.

By the time you read this, the Jewish Festival of Chanukah will have just concluded. Known as the “Feast of Dedication,” it celebrates the rededication of the Temple in 164 B.C. after it had been desecrated by Antiochus Epiphanes IV, the ruler of the Seleucid Empire and a type of anti-Christ.

His mother told Prayer Room volunteer Linda Speakman and her translator that the boy was a twin and the birth process had left him paralyzed and mentally deficient. “No! He is not mentally deficient. He is normal,” the translator assured the woman. Poverty forces many limitations on people. The inability to have her baby examined by a doctor left this mother speculating about her little boy’s condition.

Linda and her translator prayed. They prayed to our loving God for this boy’s healing. When his mother put him down on the ground, he walked! Getting used to his new ability, he turned and fell down with a gentle plop. Linda stood him up again and positioned herself behind him so he had a clear path to walk to his mama. She was surprised when the little boy turned around and walked right to her instead. He stayed securely on his feet as he reached out to hug her.
