THE DRIFTER BY PETER GRIMM
The Drifter hat is a classic Peter Grimm original design. Part surf (first introduced in the surf industry) part western (strongest seller in the western market) and part rock n roll (seen on the most famous rock n roll celebrities). This style of hat has become popular worldwide.
In the early 90’s we added an innovating feature to our hats; wire in the edge of the brim. It reinforced the strength and feel of the hat. We began to play around with this feature and discovered that by bending the wire the wearer had the added benefit of personalized shapeability. We eventually came up with a curl and roll of the brim we really liked. It had western culture appeal, surf cool and was a little bit rock n roll. We called it The Drifter.
Our first factory was in Mexico. The factory owner also owned several denim factories that we were fortunate to tour. There was every denim brand you could imagine. More interesting were the processes of treating the denim; bleaching, stone-washing, distressing, staining, painting, burning and embellishing with stones, studs, leather and beads. A light bulb moment of inspiration; why not do the same to the shapeable Drifter.
There have been many copycats but the original Drifter by Peter Grimm remains the most popular and is always authenticated with the Peter Grimm Trade Marked eyelet on the edge of the brim. A feature of authentication but also function.

All shipments are deemed to have been received, accepted in good condition, and as described on the shipping documents unless we are notified within seven calendar days of delivery of any shortages, damages, and/or substitutions not in accordance with the order. Wholesale returns are only accepted without penalty in the case of a manufacturer defect or mis-shipment. All product must have been purchased directly from us to be eligible. All other returns must be shipped prepaid at your expense. Returns must be issued a return authorization number (RA#) by Customer Service prior to shipment and this number must be visible on each returned carton. Returns received without a return authorization are subject to a 15% restocking fee. All items should be returned within 14 calendar days after issue of the authorization number. Credit will be issued upon receipt and inspection of merchandise for the original purchase price. Shipping and handling charges are excluded from the original price.
To be accepted for return, items must be in salable condition and with original tags attached. All items are inspected by our warehouse personnel. If your returned item(s) appear to be worn, soiled, or damaged in any way that renders the item(s) not resalable, you will be notified and a credit will not be issued.
You can request a return authorization number by emailing us at customerservice@petergrimm.com. You will need to provide the following information: order number, style name/number, quantity, reason for return, contact phone number, and email address. Please allow 1-2 business days for a response.
Minimum Order
$250. For smaller orders, a fee of $30 will be added.
Backorder
Minimum
Backorders with a minimum of 6 pieces will automatically ship. If after your original order ships and there are less than 6 pieces, we will notify you. If you do not want your backorder, please advise when you place your original order.
Rush/Same Day Shipment
In the event you require your order to be shipped the same day it is submitted, your order must be submitted by 12:00 noon PST and a $50 service charge will be added to your order.
Custom Orders
For anything not in our current line, the minimum order quantity is 600 pieces per style, per color. A 50% deposit is also required on all custom production. This deposit can be waived or reduced under some circumstances.
Terms
All orders shall be paid by credit card or other means prior to shipment of goods, unless the customer has been approved for net terms, in which case the customer shall pay within the time limit of such approved terms. A finance charge will be added daily to any unpaid balance on past due amounts at an APR of 18%. Purchase Orders may be refused if the customer is in default of payment terms. All orders are subject to shipping and handling charges. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Typographical Errors
In the event there are any mistakes in our printed catalog or in an electronic version, Peter Grimm Ltd. reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed incorrectly. Peter Grimm Ltd. reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Peter Grimm Ltd. shall issue a credit to your credit card account.
