Work Produced at ‘MoederscheimMoonen’ Architects During the second semester of my MArch I course at the WSA I was an intern at MoederscheimMoonen Architects, a small architecture studio in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I had wanted to get first-hand experience at a dutch practice as I had heard about their sustainable design approaches towards new urban development and I was attracted to the idea of being able to compare various working scenarios in completely different contexts during my placement year. At MMA I had the chance to work alongside a group of talented individuals with very different skills and gain experience in foam modeling and use my CAD and visualization skills in the various design projects I was able to assist in. Year: WSA MArch I (Year-in-Practice Feb.-Jul.2022) Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands Supervisors: Sulejman Gusic, Michel Brons and Erik Moederscheim Projects: Urban Design, Sports Facilities and High-rise Development 2

Work Produced at ‘Miguel-Angel Ramón Arquitecto’ Studio During the first semester of my MArch course at the WSA I was an intern at Miguel-Angel Ramón’s small architecture studio in N-W Spain. Working alongside a veteran architect has been a remarkable experience. I’ve had the chance to join him at many site visits prior design and during construction execution, meet with clients in person and work in the office with my colleagues developing plans, preparing them for their later endorsement and creating 3D models and visuals for the various projects being undertaken by the firm. Year: WSA MArch I (Year-in-Practice Sep.2021-Feb.22) Location: El Bierzo, Spain Mentors: Miguel-Angel Ramón and Victor Cela Projects: Community Infrastructure, Retail Facilities’ Restoration and Pricate Housing 4

South Wales’ Legare Institute The project revolved around the key strategic idea of proposing a business transition from the former mining industry to an alternative and innovative agriculture industry utilizing Resolven’s abandoned mine tunnels and access shafts. The Miners Welfare Hall is to be rehabilitated in a sensible manner in order to maintain and restore its architectural value and portray the heritage and history of the area. In order to achieve versatility and dynamism within the building’s key spaces detailed tectonic and mechanical studies and explorations of materials, mobile junctions, and mechanisms have been undertaken. Year: WSA BSc 3 Location: Cymer, Rhondda Valley, Wales Tutors: William Beeston, Barnaby Hughes & Hamish Warren Project: Community/Visitor Center & Youth Camp/Hostel
The ‘Scape’ The proposal aims to explode the existing site’s economy, built around the tourist industry and the local businesses: An E-Bike Hire, a tourist rental apartments’ building and the towns Kiosk. It is a piece of infrastructure designed to attract more visitors and bring revenue to Cymer. The building hosts spaces for eating and resting, a community hall and plenty multifunctional rooms, and a children’s weekly/summer camp in the repurposed adjacent former chapel in order to allow youngsters to explore and learn from the rural environment; and when not used as a school-camp facility, the ‘Camp-Inn’ can be used as a hostel for travelers and visitors to the valley.

Deriving from my first impressions from the site and contextual analysis, my conceptual ideas developed with two intentions: appropriately responding to the site’s lack of natural light, and maintaining and enhancing the existing innate connections between the citizens and the built complex (Town Hall + market).
For this purpose, the concepts of my public building design are ‘apricus’ and ‘nexus’; bringing light into an enclosed space, and keeping the existing links in the site whilst creating new ones.

The building’s main goal is to activate and revitalize the heart of Pontypridd encouraging the inhabitants of the town and surroundig villages to congregate and gather for the enjoyment of periodic and public-led organized events within the internal theatre spaces, the upgraded market hall, and the large town’ square proposed.

The Bridge House The ‘Bridge House’ is a creative-reuse design proposal of an underused carpark aiming to serve as transitional social housing for homeless or at-risk teens and young people. It is designed to provide protection and privacy whilst encouraging social interactions between all it’s residents though open-plan design, shared ammenities and openess to the street and town outside. A Versatile Micro-Dwelling
Immigrants hosted in Spain after having fled from their respective countries have to remain in refugee camps for the duration of a long process of acceptance as a Spanish citizen or denial of such. In the immigrant camps they reside in tents that have to be renewed constantly due to their rapid wear and tear. Due to the habitable conditions that must be provided in non-insulated dwellings it results in a immense material and energy waste.
16
This innovative micro-house design proposed aims to tackle this issue whilst providing refugees with a ‘decent home’; which is a Human Right. The shelter’s modular design allows them to be stacked vertically, reducing the ground floor area used. They can be transported and are fully off-grid, thransforming solar radiation into energy through the rotating panels on the facade. They may be acquired by the last residents as an affordable housing option if they are allowed to stay in the country until they can move to another residence; or be kept in the camps and be reused by other immigrants.

Furniture Designs for the Grangetown Pavilion Working as a student group and with the guidance of local carpenter Chris Williams, our ‘Vertical Studio’ focused on designing and building three signature furniture pieces for the new-built ‘Grangetown Pavilion’. The featured multifunctional piece below may be used both as a chair and a stool depending on the way it’s positioned. Year: WSA BSc 2 (Vertical Studio) Location: Grangetown, Cardiff, Wales Instructors: Mhairi McVicar & Chris Williams Studio: Furniture Design and Building 18
Graphic Design Throughout these past few years and whilst studing at the WSA I’ve been able to be part of the Student Association of Architecture as Marketing Director, and volunteer during our End-of-Year Exhibition’s designing various types of graphics for the society and school; such as logotypes and branding, merchandise, posters and year-books. Year: 2019 to date Scope: Logotype, Merchandise, Yearbook & Formatting 19
Editorial Design After traveling to the US as part of an exchange program I was able to take art and graphic design classes at my school. This awakened my interest in the graphic design world. I began to learn different digital design 2D software and I started making non-commercial book covers for amateur ‘Wattpad’ writers. Eventually, I started participating in ‘99d’ contests and designing book covers for authors all over the globe. These are a few selected examples of book cover designs I’ve made for published books in varied formats. My full portfolio can be seen in ‘ 99designs’ or ‘ Reedsy ’ Graphic Styles: Vectorial/Hand Illustration & Photorealistic Year: 2016 to date 2
