The JG Process We’re excited you are considering a project with JG! We want to assure you we have a process in place to make sure your construction/remodeling project goes as smoothly as possible, with clear on-going communication between you, our client and the JG team. This will bring you outstanding results. (In fact, many of our clients say they enjoyed the construction process…..we think that says a lot!)
Here are the basic steps we take, whether a residential remodel, new home or commercial assignment – but keep in mind we customize each and every project to our client’s needs. You get what you want, not what we want! 1. Initial Site Visit: Our Sales/Building Consultant will meet with you at your home/project site to have a detailed discussion regarding your project wants and needs, budget and schedule. He will take measurements and photo documentation and give you a verbal estimated cost range for your project. To provide you with a solution that fits your needs, we will present you with the following options: A) Proceed by signing a Design & Services Agreement, which will include a detailed preliminary budget analysis, conceptual designs and ideas along with sketches. A small deposit is required. B) Proceed by solidifying our verbal estimated cost range, which will include more analysis of your project (this does not include sketches, and/or drawings). The final step of this visit is to schedule a meeting with you for approximately 2 weeks later at our gallery to review option A or B. 2. Project Review: You will meet with our Sales/Building Consultant at our gallery to review option A or B. During the project review, once our budget and scope of work are suited to you, we proceed by signing a Pre-Construction Service Agreement and collecting a deposit. If you wish, you will receive copies of sketches, drawings, and plans. 4. Welcome: Within 48 hours of signing a Pre-Construction Service Agreement, our Project Administrator will email you to introduce herself, let you know that she is one of your points of contact, send you a copy of your agreement for your records, and address any other needs. 5. JG Team Meeting: Within 1-3 days of signing a Pre-Construction Service Agreement, our Sales/Building Consultant will meet with our Director of Construction and our Lead Designer / Product Specialist to go over your project details.
The Process Continued
6. Site Visit: We will schedule a site visit with you to complete extensive measurements, collect required site information and review current design and fixture details. 7. Project Design: Our Lead Designer/Product Specialist will start designing the new or existing space in order to provide floor plans, elevations and perspectives. 8. Design Meeting: Within 2 weeks of the site visit, the Lead Designer/Product Specialist will schedule a meeting with you at our gallery to review the plans. You will make changes and decisions that will enable us to work towards finishing your plans. Please note this may take several meetings to accomplish depending upon the scope of work 9. Product Meeting: At this point in the process, a meeting will be scheduled with the Lead Designer/Product Specialist to go over your desired design style, product preferences and color schemes (allow 1 hour). 10. Plan Approval: Once you are happy with your plans, we will ask you to sign them to approve moving forward. 11. Subcontractor Site Meeting: Within 1 week of plan approval, completion of plans, and the product meeting, we will schedule a subcontractor site visit to review your project and plans (with all of our subcontractors at your home or project site). 12. Contract Review: Within 2 weeks from the subcontractor meeting, a contract will be put together. A meeting will be scheduled to approve the contract. Depending on the scope of your project, this meeting usually takes about 1-2 hours. 13. Permits: Once the contract is approved, permits will be obtained. 14. Start: Construction begins and the relationship continues: JG keeps the communication channels open throughout the entire construction process, schedules are managed, decisions are proactive and the end is achieved. This all ensures you, the client, get the results you expect.
Allow for a minimum of 30-70 days from initial site visit to project start depending upon the scope of the project.

New Home Construction “We experienced firsthand that JG Development truly is a complete construction solution. When we decided to remodel our lake house, we had budget constraints and scheduling issues we wanted to follow. We wanted to make sure there was no construction going on during the summer months and we needed to spread out the costs of the project over time. JG Development handled this with ease moving from one phase to the next bringing the project in on-time and under budget. Great people to work with, I would strongly recommend JG to anyone wanting to build new or remodel.”
- Steve & Debra Garage Addition | Interior Remodel | Boat House Construction "Claire and I can’t imagine having used any other builder. Your team is awesome and so helpful. Amanda was such a help to us in selecting colors and products and Jesse is such a great guy. We are anxious to wrap it all up and enjoy some of the Fall up there. Thanks again.”

Living Room/Front Porch Addition | Two-Story Addition “Your workers (including your office personnel) always made us feel ‘like family,’ as opposed to a customer. We truly believe we could not have gotten better service from anyone else. We expected top-notch service and everyone on your staff delivered.”
- John & Lori
New Home Construction “It took 2.5 weeks to sell our home! We have JG Development to thank for doing such a fine job on the major construction of our home remodel and finishing of our basement. During the showings, many people complimented on how they LOVED our basement. I do, too, but we have a lot to love in this great home we remodeled! We took some time to decide on finishing our basement and if the investment would be worth it in the long run. Now, we know it was the right decision and are so grateful for the quality planning, design and craftsmanship that the JG crew provided. It was a big payoff upon the selling of our home."
