In the physical sense these networks are the roads, highways, rivers, rail lines that people move along. In the abstract, networks are the vehicle for the movement of information from one place to another. Both the physical and the abstract create a layered patchwork of vectors that intersect and allow for the change of direction, forming a framework to construct upon.

This membrane provides an elastic and pliable boundary of a structure. It can provide a zone of separation between the inside and out. There is also the correlation back to biology and the interconnected world of nature. The elastic quality of a membrane allows for the manipulation and transformation of space.

FILTER
The human brain is a network that acts as a structural map that is stimulated by one of the four senses. There is a trace of a memory that hides inside this map, it is a memory that is incomplete and changed. This manipulation of the memory occurs through a membrane filter.

SITE
Over time programmatic fabric of the site changed. Some programs lasted longer then others, etching their traces onto the site.
Memories are removed, replaced, and changed but a residue remains in the form of a trace. This trace leads the occupants to what was there before and what might come in the future.

Landfill Harmonic A slum in Paraguay is the intersection between poverty and waste. It is a place where the materials that is no longer wanted by society is recycled into something that it does need. Musical instruments are the outcome of this process and it is with these instruments that children learn how to make music.
