Master keying
Clutch function prevents control of the door from the inside: We have developed cylinder locks where the key, when entered, disengages the thumb-turn by use of a clutch mechanism. This will allow the door to be unlocked even if the thumb-turn is being held in the locked position from the inside. The security and safety implications make the use of the clutch cylinder lock ideal for situations such as schools, secure institutions or any other area where a non key holder may take advantage of controlling the door by holding the thumb-turn in the locked position to prevent the door being unlocked. Classroom function allows only the key holder to lock the door: We have further developed the clutch cylinder so that the turn can only unlock the door. Features are identical to the clutch cylinder with the addition that the turn can only unlock the door. These are typically used in schools where for example only a key holder can lock a classroom door (rather than a student by turning the thumb-turn from the inside).

pExtra provides a high level of key control due to the patented branch groove on the key blank. pExtra key blanks are not available for retail sale, which provides extra security against unauthorised key copies.
All pExtra cylinders have a high level of resistance to picking, bumping and drilling due to a number of anti-drill pins throughout the whole of the cylinder and pinning chambers. This puts them among the most secure small lock cylinders available on the market.
Key control - high level of key control achieved via international patent protection until 2022. Anti-pick - overlapping key profile and special tumbler pins that protect against picking. Anti-drill - steel security elements in the cylinder housing and barrel to provide anti drilling protection. Blocking pin - prevents illegal copy keys from operating the cylinder correctly. Hard wearing keys providing long and reliable cylinder operation. Master keying - perfect for creating simple yet sophisticated master key systems, to control access for all users. Can form part of an electronic access control system. Restrictive movement cylinder available to ensure the door is guarded against being locked from within the room. Anti-ligature thumb turn available to combine safety and security.

Kaba experT is a patented, highly secure reversible key cylinder lock with Kitemark approval. Tested and approved by the BSI and MLA, Kaba experT is suitable for large master key systems and keyed alike locking cylinders.
Kaba experT cylinder locks are built in a modular system. This makes it possible to modify cylinders simply and quickly by authorised Kaba dealers. The modular design increases the flexibility of the system and provides the highest level of investment security. Duplicate keys may only be produced by authorised Kaba dealers.

Master keying
Cylinders - DTEC UNION DTEC is a fully patented high security cylinder system. It operates combining a traditional 6-pin mechanism together with the added security of four DTEC side pins and a side bar. The DTEC system has over 240,000 key combinations, making the system ideal for specification on projects where high security is required. A DTEC key cannot be reproduced by anyone who has not been legally authorised to do so.
