AAR-FFA Preparation

It’s that time of year again! Time to take stock of what went well this year (and not so well) and what goals you would like to focus on for the upcoming year. The Annual Associate Review (AAR) and Franchise Financial Analysis Board Meeting (FFA) process is a great time to stop and give some thought to these items. This year, the Franchise Financial Analysis process will involve a greater exchange of information, which will help guide you through the process of achieving your LongTerm Goals. In addition to the preparation of your Financials, the Profit and Loss statement, and your Balance Sheet, you will be completing a Pre-Board Meeting Workbook. The data collected for this Workbook will contain information about your Franchise, your Franchise Volume, your equipment, and employee turnover. Our office will process this information and complete a Key Performance Index Summary for each Key Result Area (KRA) for your Franchise. The agenda for your AAR and FFA Board Meeting will include discussions of your Personal Goals, Long-Term Goals, and a Performance Summary. After this AAR-FFA Board Meeting, a customized Annual Plan will be created to guide each Franchise through the next year. Each Franchise will be receiving this Pre-Board Meeting Workbook approximately six weeks prior to their scheduled AAR-FFA Board Meeting appointment. Please make every effort to fill out your Workbook completely and return to the Norwalk office at least a week prior to your meeting.

Subject: THANKS!

Associated Revenue

Hi Rob,

Cleaning Commercial

I want to thank you for doing an excellent job in mitigating the water in our home at ...Forked River, NJ. Some contractors would have rushed through the job and done the basic work without taking pride in the work performed, but SERVPRO has taken time to ensure that all our rooms are dry and met or exceeded our expectations. A lot of the credit goes to Ron Slack who not only supervised the dry wall removal, but also kept us thoroughly informed every step of the way. He took time to educate us on the process and answered all our questions. He was very knowledgeable – that part we expected – but he also treated us with courtesy, concern and compassion. That part went beyond our expectations and helped to make a very trying and tiring experience more endurable. He met with us every day during the mitigation process. He took readings to make sure our home was dry and safe from all possible mold and mildew, and was always available if a problem occurred. He made us (especially P....) very secure. Even though the work is still ongoing, we have confidence that our home is on the way to being restored to its original state. In fact, we would like you to give us an estimate on completing the rebuild work. Please give Ron our thanks and appreciation. And let me know when you can estimate the rest of the work.

Hotel Guests Give Up Rooms for Storm Victims November 11, 2012 10:04 PM By LAUREN R. HARRISON lauren.harrison@newsday.com

All 143 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express of Stony Brook were full. After superstorm Sandy, families without power, state troopers, and workers aiding in disaster efforts flocked to the hotel, and it was booked solid on Saturday. John Tsunis, owner of the hotel, said he had a dilemma when even more people were expected to arrive that day -- a touring group set to perform at Staller Center for the Arts, and women’s basketball teams from Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., and Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass., to play at Stony Brook University. “How do I ask a family to remove their child with cerebral palsy, or a daughter who’s autistic, or an elderly person with an oxygen tank, to go back to their homes who had no power?” he said. Instead, both basketball teams each gave up one room, said Tsunis. Then, about 30 recovery workers from various SERVPRO® franchises primarily in the South -- contracted to clean up damaged homes and businesses across Long Island -- gave up their rooms and used sleeping bags in the hotel’s meeting room so that others would not be pushed out of the hotel. Chris Teters, a member of SERVPRO’s national storm team, said the group bought sleeping bags after hearing about the situation. “In comparison to what everyone else is dealing with, it’s pretty minor,” he said.

To many people holidays are not voyages of discovery, but a ritual of reassurance. -- Philip Andrew Adams Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love. -- Hamilton Wright Mabie The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Wishing you happiness. -- Helen Keller This is my wish for you: peace of mind, prosperity through the year, happiness that multiplies health for you and yours, fun around every corner, energy to chase your dreams, joy to fill your holidays! -- D.M. Christmas is for children. But it is for grownups too. Even if it is a headache, a chore, and nightmare, it is a period of necessary defrosting of chill and hide-bound hearts. -- Lenora Mattingly Weber Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. -- Calvin Coolidge Are you willing to believe that love is the strongest thing in the world - stronger than hate, stronger than evil, stronger than death - and that the blessed life which began in Bethlehem nineteen hundred years ago is the image and brightness of the Eternal Love? Then you can keep Christmas. -- Henry Van Dyke The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas. -- W.
