The ladies of SOuL are always doing helpful things in our community and outside the gates of Corte Bella. Our members are hard-working, generous and inventive.
Dr. Rachel Saunders, Principal, long with Veronica Navarrette, Adminstrative Assistant, receive candy donations from SOuL VIce President Carol Courter
In October, SOuL members donated candy to the Thompson Ranch Elementary School for their Halloween Trunk or Treat event. SOuL also supported the school with donations of children’s shoes for the Helping Hands closet at the school. Additionally, in November, SOuL members donated complete Thanksgiving Day dinners for twenty five Thompson Ranch school families that were selected by the school administration as being in need of help.
The SOuL Salsa Fest and Chili Feed was a huge success on November 1st. Corte Bella residents (300 strong) tasted salsas from Dave Beams, Bonnie Gentry, Deborah Lazear, Marty
Morin, Renee Neuman, Greg Parrish, Ron Phillips, Doug
Towns, and Amanda Wilhelm. SOuL thanks the participants for their efforts and their support to SOuL. Congratulations to Doug Towns, the Judges Choice! And, congratulations to the Fan Favorite winner, Dave Beams. Deborah Lazear placed 2nd in the Fan Favorite voting with Amanda Wilhelm placed 3rd in that competition.
Congratulations to the winners of the 50/50 raffle drawings
too! Lynda White was the Mega Drawing winner of $350 (and she donated that money back to SOuL!); Eileen Gow won $436, Debbie Evans won $450; and Elizabeth Pridmore won $436. SOuL raised $7,915.32 between the Mega Drawing ($700) and the 50/50 raffle ($1,314). SOuL thanks the following donors for their support:
• AirZona Air Conditioning • Barb Morin
• Chili’s
• Corte Bella Anacapa Restaurant • Corte Bella Fitness Center and Spa • Janet’s Pet Services
• Joan and Marty Morin, Rethink Real Estate • Kemper Sports Corte Bella Golf Club • Scott Kennedy’s Home Services • Laurel Vorachek and Sannia Mollman
SOuL is most grateful to the Corte Bella community for their continued support to this annual fund raising event. SOuL was able to raise $5,901.32 from this event. Thank you, Corte Bella! In November, SOuL began its sales of hand-crafted mailbox and coach light swags. SOuL is on a mission to have every mailbox in Corte Bella decorated with these beautiful swags. Thank you to everyone who purchased these at the CB Fall Marketplace and through other special sales events. As of early November, SOuL has realized $2,417.28 in sales of these festive swags and holiday gift tags. SOuL hopes to see everyone at our annual Holiday Bake Sale and Boutique on Saturday, December 18th (see flyer in this issue). Come shop and plan to have a coffee with a home-baked treat in the SOuL Sister’s Café. Come early for best selection.
