THERESA SCOTT ASSISTANT COACH
T
he 2021-22 season marks the first for Theresa Scott as an assistant coach with Southeast Missouri track & field. Fox will coach the Redhawks sprints, hurdles and relay teams. Scott comes to SEMO after serving as an assistant at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. In three seasons with the Blue Raiders of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics), Scott had the pleasure of coaching five All-Americans, 12 National Qualifiers and 48 top-8 Mid-South Conference finishers. Her student-athletes have also broken 10 school records at Lindsey Wilson. Scott designed and oversaw the periodization and weight training for the men’s and women’s sprints, hurdles and relay teams. She also was responsible for recruiting prospective student-athletes as well as providing assistance

Prior to Lindsey Wilson, Scott served as the graduate assistant track coach at NCAA Division II member Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. In her time with Washburn, she helped coach a pair of national qualifiers, 10 top-8 MIAA (MidAmerica Intercollegiate Athletics Association) finishers and saw a total of 20 school records fall. As a student-athlete at Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio, Scott was an NCAA Division II First Team All-American in the 4x100 meter relay and a SecondTeam All-American in the 60 meters. The Austintown, Ohio, native, holds the Great Midwest Conference and Tiffin program records in both the 60 meters and 4x100 meter relay. Scott is also the 100 meters record holder at Tiffin. She was named the Tiffin Female Breakthrough Athlete of the Year in 2016.
In the classroom, Scott was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a National Honor Society Nominee and an NCAA Academic Team honoree. Scott earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Tiffin in 2016. She also attained her Master’s in Business Administration from Washburn in 2018.
