he 2021-22 season marks the first for Kseniya Zonova as the Graduate Assistant for the Southeast Missouri women’s tennis team. Zonova played five seasons with the Redhawks and helped SEMO secure its first-ever Ohio Valley Conference RegularSeason title in 2021. In 2021, Zonova posted a 12-5 doubles record with a 6-0 mark in OVC contests, playing exclusively at the no. 1 position with OVC Player of the Year, Romana Tarajova. Zonova ranked as high as 71st in the 2021 Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I Women’s Rankings with Teona Velkoska after their win over Mizzouri’s Bronte Murgett and Marta Oliveira. Zonova compiled a career singles record of 47-36 at SEMO including a 14-7 mark in 2019. She ranks fourth all-time in SEMO program history for
career wins. She was named OVC Female Athlete of the Week twice in her career and earned Second-Team All-OVC honors as a sophomore in 2018. In the classroom, Zonova was a four-time OVC Academic Medal of Honor recipient for a perfect 4.0. She was also named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and awarded Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete honors. Zonova also garnered the 2019-2020 President’s Spirit of Southeast Award which is awarded to an undergraduate student that demonstrates integrity, leadership, and involvement both on and off campus, encourages others to get involved, and embodies the best of Southeast Missouri and is selected by SEMO President Dr. Carlos Vargas. Zonova graduated from Southeast Missouri in 2020 with a Bachelor’s in Finance. She is
currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration.
