Autumn at ABACUS has seen a very busy period for seeing many of our brokers all around the country. There have been all manner of events, meetings and goings-on and it has been great to get out and see so many of you. Thankfully, after a little accident recently whilst trying to enter the motorway, Mr Brook Jr. now has his car fixed up, and he is ready to hit the road as we head into the Winter months!

September Cast your minds back to the start of September, the end of a glorious British Summer. The trees were still green, and Robin & Ben were out seeing many of you. September happens to be the unfortunate month of Benjamin’s recent accident (a slight bump in the rear), something which occurred on his way to Stoke-on-Trent!
didn’t shine as hoped, we were able to remain dry, and some of our guests even won a little bit of money! The day as a whole was a superb success, with a fine evening of drinks and a BBQ accompaniment, the perfect combination to congratulate or commiserate the varying successes of the days racing.
Robin headed down to Poldark country back in September - a 6-hour drive to Cornwall in deepest darkest Bodmin, no sign of the Beast on his trip though!
We didn’t have long before dusting off our finest attire for the splendid UK Broker Awards, hosted by InsuranceAge. We gladly hosted a table, with excellent views of guest host Tom Allen’s hilarious display compering the day. Thank you to those who joined us for a great event.

October The wheels continued to turn in October. Ben clocked up the visits and miles in October - covering the majority of the South and Midlands, from Birmingham to Portsmouth - and all that is in between!
We go straight from the glitz and glamour of the Ritz hotel, to hosting Mark Lee of Wesleyan Insurance at the cold face of the Football League - the high octane, blood and guts that is League One. Roots Hall was the venue for Southend United’s face off with Walsall. Sadly for Mark, a 3-0 defeat meant the football side of matters wasn’t fantastic for him, but I know Mark enjoyed the evening otherwise. In an action-packed October, we also took in Football of the other kind - live NFL action at Wembley as the Los Angeles Chargers and the Tennessee Titans faced off. A different experience for many there, and a great time was had by everyone who attended.
Robin ventured up to the sunny (or not so as it turned out) seaside town of Blackpool with Richard Burgess in October. Once we’d bought our Kiss Me Quick hats, we were able to catch up with some of our brokers in the Cheshire region before the drive back to Essex!
Two Types of Football & An Afternoon Tea to Remember!
Completing a Football-dominated month, Robin & Richard were extremely fortunate to be invited by Stewart Donald & Neil Fox of Bridle Insurance up to Sunderland AFC for the big League One clash. We were excited and glad to be joining Bridle Insurance in Sunderland’s impressive
boardroom, and we even found ourselves pitchside prior to kick off! The experience capped off a marvellous October, that will never be forgotten, it made for a fun time.
October has seen many different events with our brokers. We were very kind treated by Blink IS to an Afternoon tea that Robin & Richard will never forget - a superb afternoon at the Ritz hotel. We were lucky enough to try various types of tea and cakes on the afternoon. A truly magical experience that everybody attending thoroughly enjoyed.

November Before Ben jetted off on holiday for the latter part of November, Ben worked his way along the South Coast. A beautiful part of the country, Ben visited brokers all the way from England’s garden in Kent through to the Jurassic coast of Dorset!
hope everyone got a lot out of the day, and thank you to those of you who came to see us on the day - hopefully some of our chocolate giveaways made it back to your offices!
Robin bizarrely ended up in a strange, Harry Potter themed hub in the Brambles, York on a broker visit there. Everything on offer from Wands to potions and merchandise. Who would have thought York has become the centre of the Harry Potter universe?!
As ever, we gladly hosted some of our brokers in the evening in the superb setting of the Almanack, Kenilworth. We were so pleased to enjoy a relaxing and wonderful evening over some fine food and drink, and enjoyed catching up with you all.
EXPO-nentially Better Every Year We were thrilled to see so many brokers at the November Broker EXPO event held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. A fine venue, and the exhibition was well attended. We
Also in November, we had the pleasure of being joined by Ashburnham Insurance & N R Daws for some Europa League action at the Emirates Stadium between Arsenal & Sporting Lisbon! Sadly, the game didn’t live up to the hype, and a rather drab 0-0 ensued. That didn’t stop us having a wonderful evening at a superb venue though!
