Introduction

Youth to Business Forum is an event that takes place in multiple locations around the world; bringing top young leaders together with business leaders, thought leaders, and experts for a conversation around pressing global issues with the aim to generate new, but most importantly, actionable ideas that will impact the world and its future.

4

Our Approach

We make this happen by taking our young leaders through a unique and interactive delegate experience consisting of three segments – Inspire – Engage – Act

5

Top business and thought leaders in Malaysia are invited to share their knowledge with the delegates on the forum theme. This is delivered through keynotes and forum discussions. Our workshop partners engage with youth leaders to provide new perspective and insight relating to the forum theme and its respective industries through workshops and conversations. Youth delegates consolidate their learnings and gather insights from the day into a space where they are able to generate ideas, ask challenging questions and share their opinions on the actions that could be taken to address 6 the theme of the day.

Excerpt taken from Engaging Gen Y, The Edge, 28th January 2013

Generation Y have significantly different values, beliefs and lifestyle from the Baby Boomer generation, differences that organizations are having to adapt to, for the simple reason that Gen Y and Millenials will dominate the workplace in the coming decade. “Your ability to attract, develop, and retain young leaders will make or break your company in the coming years, Josh Berzin, Talent Management expert – Forbes Magazine

10

Why Decode Gen-Y ? Who is Generation Y?

Generation Y (Gen-Y) has become the major demographic group in most of the world. They are largest group of consumers. They make up the biggest chunk of the upcoming global workforce.

Are they transforming the landscape?

The values they hold and the opinions they have should be of great interest to businesses, government and the world. The trends of today are shaped by Generation Y and will be the prevalent reality tomorrow.

Youth to Business Forum creates a platform for youths to engage with business leaders in order to discuss major issues that the world faces today and create ideas to help shape a better future for their generation and beyond. 11
