Beach is located on the seashore west of Adelaide. This area includes residential housing, commercial streets, and school. With the development of commerce and leisure, more houses need to be built. It is meaningful to choose to analyze the development of buildings and flood prevention this area.

SIT ANALYSIS As shown in the section perspective, there are no tall buildings in this area. The tallest building does not exceed 7.5 meters. In this area, the grass and trees are relatively lush, roads are crisscross, commercial and residential buildings are interspersed, and the school has a large open space but no water system.

From the figure, you can see the changes of Henley Beach Rd from 2001 to 2015. Some facilities have been added to the open space of the school, some streets have been widened, and residential buildings have changed little, but there have been more commerce, and the amount of vegetation has decreased. It is inferred that it should be related to the flow of people.

FLOOD ANALYSIS

FLOOD ANALYSIS COASTLINE SECTION 1

COASTLINE SECTION 2

COASTLINE SECTION 3

From the section of the coastline, it can be seen that the coastal area is not much higher than the sea level. This may be a cause of flood. It can be seen from the rainfall map that there are more rainfall in coastal areas.

The second reason may be the heavy rainfall in Adelaide, which is more concentrated in winter. It can be seen from the figure that floods of varying degrees appeared near Henley Beach in the winter with heavier rainfall before 1960. But after that, repairs were carried out near Henley Beach to reduce the possibility of flooding.

FLOOD PREVENTION As Adelaide rainfall is uncontrollable, sea level rise is an inevitable problem. To solve the flood can only be changed from the coast. In order to prevent seawater from rushing to the coastal communities, a permeable ground was set on the coast to extend the length of the beach, and a rock wall was set as a buffer, and a dam was set on the top of the rock wall to prevent high waves from entering the community. A plant buffer zone is set up near the community, one is to prevent the beach sand from blowing to the community, and the other is to block the flow of water. Plant buffer
