To the Citizens and Friends of Christiansburg Dear Friends, The Christiansburg Recreation Center offers a variety of programs that provide something for everyone, whether you want to get fit with one of our many fitness classes, get your heart pumping in our cardio room, or lift weights in the weight room. Come play an intense game of racquetball, or shoot some hoops on one of our four full basketball courts. Maybe you want to simply walk on the indoor 1/8 mile walking track. Check out our many children's programs from oddler Diaper Gym to youth wrestling, gymnastics, ballet, and art. Our youth athletic programs include basketball, baseball, and wrestling. Looking for an athletic program for yourself? Join one of our volleyball, softball, or basketball leagues. Over age 50? We invite you to relax in our senior's lounge, or challenge a friend to a game of billiards. Take advantage of our various educational classes and health screenings. Join an aerobics class, or come along on one of our destination trips. We hope to see you soon! Please plan to attend our Fourth of July Celebration on Monday, July 4, at Christiansburg High School Football Stadium. As always, it will be a lot of fun. You will find information about our Fourth of July Celebration in this brochure. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation has been awarded the Dixie State Baseball Tournaments for Dixie Junior Boys (age 13) and Boys (age 24) for 2011. The Dixie Junior Boys and Boys State Baseball Tournaments will be held in July at Harkrader Sports Complex. Opening Ceremonies for both tournaments will be on July 15, with games scheduled from July 16-20th. As previously announced, Christiansburg will also host the 2012 Junior Dixie Boys World Series, where 12 teams from 11 states will compete for top honors in the Junior Dixie Boys league. GENERAL INFORMATION Christiansburg Parks and Recreation, funded by the Town of Christiansburg, offers a variety of recreational and educational opportunities to its citizens. The department also receives funding from the Christiansburg Kiwanis Club for the maintenance of Kiwanis Park and for the purchase of youth athletic equipment.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
1. Register for programs in person at the Christiansburg Recreation Center, 1600 North Franklin Street. Administrative Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Registration for programs will only be accepted during Administrative Office hours. 2. Registration for programs will be accepted by mail to: Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation Christiansburg Recreation Center 1600 North Franklin Street Christiansburg, VA 24073 3. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Please make checks payable to: Christiansburg Parks and Recreation. 4. Early registration is encouraged, as many programs fill up fast. 5. Pre-registration is required for all programs. 6. Registration is accepted on a “first come, first served” basis up to the maximum enrollment. Residents/taxpayers of the Town of Christiansburg will receive first priority. 7. Upon receipt of registration form and fee, that individual is automatically enrolled (space permitting). There will not be any confirmation of mail in registrations. The department will only notify individuals if there is a problem with the registration. Feel free to call the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Administrative Office to confirm your registration. 8. Phone registration will not be accepted. 9. If the program is full, you may request that your name and phone number be put on a waiting list. You will be contacted if a space becomes available. 10. Late registration and transfers are only possible when there are openings. 11. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation reserves the right to change and/or cancel programs. 12. Participants who register for a program which requires the purchase of equipment and/or supplies should wait until the last day of registration and check with the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office to insure that the program will be conducted. 13. If a participant cannot participate after registering, a written request for a refund must be submitted within three (3) working day prior to the week the program starts. Refunds are not given after the first program meeting, unless approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation. When programs are filled or canceled, refunds are automatic. 14. Parents with children enrolled in programs should pick them up no later than fifteen (15) minutes after the ending of that program. 15. 1. If Montgomery County Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Christiansburg Recreation Center will not open until 8:00am and all scheduled programs will be cancelled for that date. 2. If the Montgomery County Public Schools are delayed in the morning due to inclement weather, all programs before 12:00 noon will be cancelled for that morning. 3. If Montgomery County Public Schools are released early due to inclement weather, all programs after 12:00 noon will be cancelled for that afternoon/evening.
POLICY ON ADULTS AND CHILDREN 1. Unless stated otherwise in the class description, adults are asked to wait outside of the classroom during the child’s class time. 2. Adults are asked not to bring children to their classes. Children brought to adult classes interfere with other participants and the instructor. 3. Thank you for your cooperation.
ELIGIBILITY POLICY FOR YOUTH AND ADULT PROGRAMS Town of Christiansburg: is defined as that area within the corporate limits of the Town of Christiansburg. Street address must be indicated on all registration forms. These addresses will be monitored. If necessary, Town of Christiansburg tax receipts or vehicle decal receipts may be requested. Sponsor: defined as any business, church, chartered club or other legal organization within the corporate limits of the Town of Christiansburg. Town Resident/Town Taxpayer: is defined as anyone that lives within the corporate limits of the Town of Christiansburg or pays real estate taxes to the Town of Christiansburg. Non-Resident: is defined as anyone that does not live within the corporate limits of the Town of Christiansburg or does not pay real estate taxes to the Town of Christiansburg.
TOWN RESIDENT/TOWN TAXPAYER 1. Will be allowed to pre-register for all programs. 2. If one of the following requirements is satisfied there will be no additional fee: a. be a resident of the Town of Christiansburg b. be a real estate taxpayer of the Town of Christiansburg

PARTIAL REFUND POLICY 1. The following policy on refunds for Recreation Programs will be effective January 1, 2008. 2. Partial Refunds will not be issued for classes or programs unless the instructor is unable to complete the class. In case of cancelled classes due to inclement weather, partial refunds will not be issued if at least 80% of the scheduled activity has met. When possible a canceled class or activity will be rescheduled. 3. Partial refunds will not be issued for less than $5.00.
Non-resident/non-taxpayer will be assessed an additional fee.
ELIGIBILITY POLICY FOR ADULT TEAM SPORTS Non-resident/non-taxpayer will be assessed an additional fee.
DIXIE BASEBALL AND DIXIE SOFTBALL Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball participants must live within the boundaries established for Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball.
New Late Fee Policy If space is still open in program the late fees will be as follows: • $5 First Week Late • $10 Second Week Late No Registration after second week.

7. Abusive, profane, threatening, indecent language and/or action are strictly prohibited. 8. Threatening language or actions toward Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Staff will result in a minimum of one year suspension from all Christiansburg Parks and Recreation facilities and programs. A No Trespass Notice will be issued. 9. Fighting is strictly prohibited. Adults fighting will receive a minimum of one year suspension from the Christiansburg Recreation Center with police action and a “No Trespass Notice”. Youth fighting will result in suspension as determined by the Director of Parks and Recreation and parental notification 10 Anyone stealing money, or personal property belonging to another individual, or property of the Christiansburg Recreation Center, or anyone aiding in such theft, will receive a minimum of one-year suspension from the Christiansburg Recreation Center and the Police will be notified. 11. Any suspension from the Christiansburg Recreation Center may also include suspension from all Christiansburg Parks and Recreation facilities and programs. 12. Anyone who refuses to leave Town of Christiansburg property (after being instructed to do so) will receive a minimum of one month additional suspension, with a “No Trespass Notice” and police action. 13. Gambling of any form is prohibited. 14. Only non-marking sneakers and tennis shoes may be worn in the gymnasium (track and courts) and racquetball courts. Anyone caught leaving excessive marks on the floors may be suspended from the recreation center. 15. Shirts and shoes must be worn during all hours of operation. Proper attire is required. No sandals or open-toed shoes. 16. No pets will be allowed in the Christiansburg Recreation Center (except for dog obedience classes or service dogs). 17. Loitering will not be allowed. 18. Bicycles must be locked in the bike rack. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation will not be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged bicycles (including components). 19. No skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, Heelys or any other kind of roller shoes may be used on sidewalks or inside the Christiansburg Recreation Center. 20. Entry and exit must be through the doors near the Recreation Center Supervisor and Equipment Station. 21. Lockers may be rented on a 6 month or one year basis. $30.00 for 6 months $60.00 for one year. If lockers are not cleaned out or renewed on or before the expiration date, the items will be cleared out, kept for one week, then discarded. The Christiansburg Recreation Center is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen locker contents. 22. All equipment stored in classrooms is for the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation use only. Individual use of mats and play equipment is prohibited unless approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation. 23. The Director of Parks and Recreation has the authority to revoke any individual’s privileges of using the Christiansburg Recreation Center for any length of time for disorderly conduct. Suspensions may vary according to his/her discretion and the severity of the offense.
The hours of the Christiansburg Recreation Center are established to best serve the needs of the public and may fluctuate depending on seasonal changes. Hours of operation will be as follows:

Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs will receive priority in scheduling. Therefore, it is important to contact the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Administrative Office for an updated weekly schedule. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times (unless they are participating in a Christiansburg Parks and Recreation program or attending a special event). Home schooled children will be permitted to use the Christiansburg Recreation Center Monday through Friday for physical education. They must be accompanied by their parent, guardian, and/or teacher. If not accompanied, they will not be allowed to utilize the Recreation Center during Montgomery County Public Schools normal hours. Students that attend Montgomery County Public Schools will not be allowed to utilize the Christiansburg Recreation Center during Montgomery County Public Schools normal hours. The Christiansburg Recreation Center will be closed on these holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. Other closings due to special circumstances will be posted in the Christiansburg Recreation Center as far in advance as possible.
RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Alcoholic beverages, drugs or any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted on Town of Christiansburg property. 2. Smoking and the use of any other tobacco product is prohibited in the Christiansburg Recreation Center and around entrance areas. 3. Drinks from Christiansburg Recreation Center vending machines will only be permitted in main lobby. 4. Drinks and/or food may not be brought inside the Christiansburg Recreation Center (unless approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation). 5. Chewing gum is prohibited in the Christiansburg Recreation Center. 6. Threatening or indecent conduct is prohibited. 6
24. Suspension may be increased or made permanent if an individual repeats an offense or attempts to enter the Christiansburg Recreation Center while under suspension. 25. The Director of Parks and Recreation has the authority to suspend an individual for any violation of the rules and regulations for the Christiansburg Recreation Center. 26. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation will not be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. 27. We reserve the right to suspend participation as the result of behavior problems that disrupt programs and/or participants.
Yearly, six month, and one month membership fees will only be accepted during Christiansburg Park and Recreation Administrative Office hours. 10. ID cards are only used to utilize facilities in the Christiansburg Recreation Center during stated hours. 11. ID cardholders must pay participation fees to participate in Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs. 12. Christiansburg Recreation Center ID cards are not required to participate in Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs. 13. Participation fees and non-resident/taxpayer fees will be charged to participate in Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs. 14. There will be a $5.00 charge for replacement ID cards. 15. Left ID cards will be discarded after 3 weeks. Resulting in the need for a replacement ID. 16. There will be an administration fee of $25.00 for membership refunds.
ID CARD SYSTEM 1. Christiansburg Recreation Center ID cards are required during all hours of operation unless otherwise stated. ID’S MUST BE SHOWN AT THE RECREATION CENTER SUPERVISOR AND EQUIPMENT STATION UPON ENTERING THE CENTER. 2. Parents must obtain an ID card for children 5 years of age or older. 3. Persons wishing to use the recreation center must have a current ID or pay $5.00 for a daily pass. 4. All persons purchasing a daily pass must complete a day pass application form with an attached photo. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their day pass. 5. Person(s) who wish to have an ID card must show two proofs of residency. No P.O. Boxes. A. First Proof - must have a valid drivers license (or DMV ID card) indicating Town of Christiansburg residency. B. Second Proof - may consist of automobile registration card, voter registration card, real-estate property tax receipt, current lease of property matching the address of the driver’s license, or utility bill. We do not accept insurance information, cell phone bills, pay stubs, W2’s or any other info that is not from the DMV or paid on the property. 6. All ID cards must be renewed the following year during the same month the ID card was issued. 7. Town residents/real estate taxpayers will received a free ID card. 8. Business owners that have an office inside the town limits may also receive a free ID, but must show the following: a real estate property tax ticket showing that they own the property the business is located at OR a business license, a lease showing the office space is inside town limits and a utility bill (the addresses on all 3 documents must match). If showing a business license, lease and utility bill, all three must be shown together and the card will be made for the duration of the lease, but no longer than one year. 9. Persons that do not live in town, do not own property or do not have a business in Christiansburg may purchase a membership: Single Adult Family

RACQUETBALL COURTS 1. Doors must be closed when racquetball courts are in use. 2. Proper shoes are required that do not leave marks on the floor. Anyone caught leaving excessive marks on the floors will be suspended from the recreation center. 3. Proper eye guards are strongly recommended. 4. Reservations for racquetball courts may be made up to two days in advance. Reservations may be made over the phone during normal operating hours. Center ID card is required to make reservations. 5. All reservations are for one hour periods and must be made on the hour. A ten minute grace period will be followed for holding court reservations. 6. If you make a reservation and are unable to meet the appointment, you must call the Christiansburg Recreation Center to cancel the reservation. Two “NO SHOWS” in one month will result in forfeiture of your right to make a court reservation for a one month period. 7. Balls and goggles are available and may be checked out at the Recreation Supervisor and Equipment Station. 8. ALL RACQUETBALL PLAYERS MUST REPORT TO THE RECREATION SUPERVISOR AND EQUIPMENT STATION TO CHECK IN BEFORE ENTERING THE COURTS. 9. Children under the sixth grade may not use the racquetball courts unless playing with a parent. 10. Drinks and/or food will not be allowed in the racquetball courts.
WEIGHT AND FITNESS ROOMS 1. Please stop at the Recreation Center Supervisor and Equipment Station to sign in. 2. Children are not allowed in the fitness rooms. You must be 17 years old to enter unrestricted. 3. Anyone between the ages of 13-16 years old wishing to use the fitness rooms must have a parental permission form on file at the Christiansburg Recreation Center and must participate in a one time basic instruction course with a Christiansburg Recreation Center Supervisor to become familiar with the equipment and its proper use. 4. Please put all weights, bars, dumbbells, and all other equipment back in the proper place after use.

5. Please clean off weight and exercise equipment after use (cleaning materials are stored in the fitness rooms). 6. You must sign out at the Recreation Center Supervisor and Equipment Station when leaving. Please shut the fitness room door behind you. 7. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation is not responsible for any injury that may occur while using the equipment. If you have any questions about the proper use of the equipment, please ask a Recreation Center Supervisor for assistance. 8. Drinks and/or food will not be allowed in the fitness rooms.
CHRISTIANSBURG RECREATION CENTER RENTAL POLICY 1. Rentals will only be available when the requested area is not being utilized for Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation programs. 2. Check with the Supervisor of Special Events and Recreation Center for rental availability. 3. If the area to be rented is available, a contract will be made that the renter must sign and pay in full in order for the room to be held. Please bring the contract the day of the rental. 4. Rental reservations will not be made more than 30 days in advance and not less than two weeks in advance of the date requested. 5. Programs, classes and meetings sponsored by the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation take first priority over any rental applications. 6. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation will not assume responsibility for any personal property used on Town of Christiansburg premises. 7. Any damages to Town of Christiansburg premises or extra cleaning required as a result of the group’s use must be paid by that group or individual. 8. No admissions may be charged and no sales may be conducted unless approved by the Town of Christiansburg. 9. Smoking or use of any tobacco products is prohibited in the Christiansburg Recreation Center. 10. Only non-alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the Christiansburg Recreation Center. 11. Commitments will not be made for weekly, monthly or yearly rentals. 12. All areas must be left clean and orderly. A Recreation Supervisor will check the area after the rental and it must be left in excellent condition, or an additional fee may be added. 13. Stored materials are for Christiansburg Parks and Recreation use only. 14. Confirmation for a specific area rental does not include group usage or other areas in the Christiansburg Recreation Center. Regular Christiansburg Recreation Center policies will be followed at all times. 15. Participants using the Christiansburg Recreation Center must enter through the main doors near the Recreation Center Supervisor and Equipment Station. Parking must be in the main lot only. 16. Gymnasium and Track 1. Only basketball shoes, tennis shoes, walking shoes, or running shoes will be permitted (this rule is to protect the floor and for the safety of all participants). 2. Only children of walking age will be permitted on the track. 6. Strollers will be permitted on the track M-F 10:00am-2:00pm. Strollers are only allowed on the inside lane of the track. 7. During busy times, the inside track lane is for slow walkers, the center lane is for fast walkers and the outside lane is for joggers/runners. 8. On Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday please walk/ jog/ run to the right (counter clockwise) when using the track. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday please walk/jog/run to the left when using the track (clockwise). 9. Drinks and/or food will not be allowed in the gymnasium (includes track, courts and bleachers).
EQUIPMENT CHECK OUT 1. All equipment will be issued at the Christiansburg Recreation Center Supervisor and Equipment Station. 2. The person who checks out the equipment is responsible for the equipment. If equipment is lost, stolen, or broke, he/she must pay for an equivalent replacement. Replacement will be determined by the Director of Parks and Recreation. 3. Anyone who does not return borrowed equipment may lose the privilege of using the equipment.
SENIOR CENTER, SENIOR GAMEROOM, KITCHEN, MULTI-PURPOSE ROOMS AND CLASSROOMS POLICY 1. Please stop by the Recreation Center Supervisor and Equipment Station to sign in. 2. Supplies in these areas are only used for Christiansburg Parks and Recreation programs. 3. Equipment cannot be used without permission from Recreation Center Supervisor. 4. HUCKLEBERRY TRAIL The Huckleberry Trail is an asphalt-paved bike/pedestrian path. The trail currently runs from the Blacksburg Public Library to the New River Mall. There are distance markers every half-mile. At 2.83 miles it crosses the road to Warm Hearth, at 3.43 miles it crosses Hightop, and at 3.90 it crosses Merrimac. The total distance from the Blacksburg Public Library to the New River Mall is 5.762 miles. There are benches spaced along the trail where you can rest and

Outdoor sports facilities rental policy 1. Rentals will only be available when the requested area is not being utilized for Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Programs. 2. Check with the Supervisor of Outdoor Facilities and Parks and/ or Athletic Supervisor for rental availability. 3. If the area to be rented is available, a contract will be made that the renter must sign and pay in full in order for the facility to be held. Please bring the contract the day of the rental. 4. Rental reservations may not be made more than 30 days in advance and not less than two weeks in advance of the date requested. 5. Athletic functions and programs sponsored by Christiansburg Parks and Recreation take first priority over any rental application. 6. Christiansburg Parks and Recreation will not assume responsibility for any personal property used on Town of Christiansburg premises. 7. Any damages to Town of Christiansburg premises or extra cleaning required as a result of the group’s use must be paid by that group or individual. 8. No admissions may be charged and no sales may be conducted unless approved by the Town of Christiansburg. 9. Smoking or use of any tobacco products is prohibited on athletic facility grounds. 10. Only non-alcoholic beverages will be allowed on athletic facility grounds.

HARKRADER SPORTS COMPLEX FACILITY USE GUIDELINES
OUTSIDE COOLERS ARE NOT PERMITTED @ HARKRADER COMPLEX, WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL. • RESTROOMS: Clean restrooms for men and women will be provided. • TRASH PICK UP: Trash will be emptied daily by Harkrader Complex crews. User groups/individuals are strongly encouraged to remind their participants to use the receptacles provided and not throw trash on the ground. • SECURITY: A security individual may be assigned/required at the cost of the renter to periodically be on site to patrol the parking lots, deal with any disturbances and generally assist the facility manager as needed. • GAME TIMES: No games will begin before 8:00 a.m. No game will start after 8:00 p.m. • INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Each user group/individual will have a written INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY on hand for their activity, in case of rain or other weather conditions that might delay or postpone games. There must be a plan of action that allows for speeding up play, or shortening the total number of games to be a played in case there are long delays in scheduled games. The INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY must be turned in with written proof of insurance and a tentative schedule by Thursday before the tournament. The HARKRADER SPORTS COMPLEX SUPERVISOR reserves the right to determine when the field is not playable. Under no circumstances is the field to be used for play when the facility manager has determined that the conditions are unsafe for users or possibly harmful to the fields.

This facility was built for both the citizens of the Town of Christiansburg and out of town guest for their recreation use and enjoyment. Outdoor Sports Facility Usage Guidelines - for rental V. Payment Policies a. For a single event or for usage that is to occur within two weeks of scheduling, payment is to be made in full at time of scheduling. b. Methods of Payment: Cash or Check upon receipt of confirmed date(s) made payable to: Christiansburg Parks & Recreation, 1600 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg, VA 24073. 1. A confirmation of reserved field will be provided at the time of scheduling with a receipt of payment.
I. Time of Use a. Fields will not be open for play until 9:00am and there is no infield access until that time. The only exception is when there is no field set-up required (field dragging, base placement, marking lines, etc.) b. Lights will be available during the hours of 5:00pm and 11:00pm. Weather conditions may require lights to be turned on prior to the designated start time, if so; the field supervisor will have final authority to do so. c. Tournament use must abide by the Town of Christiansburg and Montgomery County Ordnance Codes regarding public disturbance noise.
VI. Refunds a. In order to schedule a tournament, a one time yearly refundable damage deposit fee in the amount of $200 will be required to hold the date; the corresponding Tournament Fees will be due one week prior to use. Cancellation by the user, at any time, will result in loss of deposit fee. Refunds of deposit or rescheduling date will only occur if cancellation by Parks & Recreation Department due to inclement weather or unsafe playing conditions. Tournament users are required to complete a “Sports Field Application” at the time of scheduling and a “Tournament Host Checklist” submitted with tournament fees. b. In case of field closure due to inclement weather, poor field conditions, or lights failure, it is the responsibility of the user to request rescheduling or refund within 7 days of the date of the rescheduled use. c. To request a refund complete the “Refund Request Form” and return it to the Town of Christiansburg Parks & Recreation Department.
II. Services Provided a. Facilities (restroom, field structures, display boards, etc.) Existing facilities will be maintained to high standards leading up to and during tournaments. b. General Maintenance: Town staff will maintain rest rooms, trash receptacle and litter pickup at levels to be expected of a large event. c. Field Maintenance: Town maintenance staff will prepare field for use and layout field according to the request made from the Tournament Host Checklist at the start of each day. Mid-day field preps are available for an additional fee. In the event of unfavorable weather the maintenance staff will undertake all reasonable measures to make the fields available for use. III. Site Access a. Park hours are from 7:15am until 11:00pm. Vehicle access beyond all lockable gates is restricted to maintenance and concession personal only. b. The Town of Christiansburg is not responsible for damage or loss incurred by the tournament host at the site.
VII. Field Lighting a. For field usage which begins after sunset, field lights will be turned on/off at the appropriate time for the requested duration of use. Athletic field lights will not remain on past 11:00pm unless otherwise authorized by the Town of Christiansburg and Montgomery County.
IV. Host Responsibilities a. It is the responsibility of the tournament host to take down and dispose of any decorations. When there is excessive trash, tournament host should dispose of the excess trash and litter debris generated by the event. b. Cleanup, take down, removal of all equipment and supplies will be complete by park closing time on the last scheduled day of the tournament. - FOR RENTAL
VIII. General Athletic Field Use Rules and Regulations. a. Selling, opening, possessing alcoholic beverages in any open container, or consuming any alcoholic beverage in any town park is prohibited, other than in connection with an event or activity for which a permit has been issued. b. Leagues/Organizations must submit Certificate of Insurance with the Town of Christiansburg listed as an additional insured. General liability limits must be at least $1,000,000. c. Failure to follow Facility Use Guidelines may result in cancellation of use without refund.

Senior PROGRAMS RECREATION CENTER REFUND POLICY Partial refunds will not be issued for classes or programs if more than 80% of the scheduled activity has been or will be conducted. Partial refunds will be calculated by dividing the individual fee for the number of scheduled meetings. When possible, a cancelled class or program will be rescheduled. To receive a full refund for a trip, individuals must contact the administrative office in writing one week prior to the scheduled trip; refunds will not be given after registration deadline. Partial refunds will not be issued for less than $5.00 unless a senior participant agrees to accept a refund coupon to be recorded in the senior refund coupon book in the administrative office. At the end of the year the senior that has traveled the most will be awarded a plaque and gift certificate towards future programs or trips. The winner will be announced at our annual luncheon in January. TRANSPORTATION SERVICES POLICY The senior section transportation service will be on a need to be basis. This service is designed to pick up local senior citizens without access to transportation from their homes. This enables individuals to participate in senior trips and special luncheons. When signing up for trips or special luncheons seniors needing to use the transportation service must state so on the registration form. Certain circumstances arise which individuals with transportation to require this service, when applying the policy special circumstances and discretion will be taken under consideration by the supervisor of Senior & Special Population programs. Adult Athletic Programs Adult Flag Football Registration begins: July 4 Registration ends: August 12 Eligibility: 18 year olds and over Location: Games will be played at the old Christiansburg Middle School and possibly the Christiansburg High School. Fee: $225 per town resident team: $250 Late Fee Minimum: 4 teams Maximum: 12 teams Additional Information: There must be at least 4 teams registered to allow the season to take place.
