This is Genevieve. She is STRONG and FAST and TOUGH.

Genevieve wanted to play football like her brothers did, but the coach told her, “You can’t play! You’re a girl! You’re just not STRONG or FAST or TOUGH enough, and I don’t want to see you get hurt.”

As Genevieve walked home sad, she passed a field where some girls were playing a strange game. They were LIFTING people up, and RUNNING down the field, and TACKLING with no pads!

As Genevieve watched, she realized that these girls were STRONG and FAST and TOUGH, just like her! Genevieve had to play this sport!

When the game was over, she talked to one of the players and asked them what the game was called. “Rugby!,” the girl said. Genevieve asked if she was STRONG and FAST and TOUGH enough to play. The girl told her, “Anyone is welcome to play this sport. FAST, SLOW, BIG, SMALL! Any girl who wants to step on the field is welcome to play with us.”

From that day forward, Genevieve was a STRONG, FAST, and TOUGH rugby player who never let anyone tell her she wasn’t good enough to play.
