- Deep passion for sustainability in the built environment - Proven proficiency in parametric/energy modelling/ environmental and building performance simulations (Revit/IESVE/Designbuilder/EnergyPlus) - UK practical experience in decarbonisation and energy optimisation
Work history 2021.122022.02
Building Physics Engineer (Full-time)
Active Building Centre, Swansea UK
Developed Energy modelling : Demand (IESVE) and Generation (PV Sol) • developed a dynamic thermal baseline model using ModelIT (geometry)/ Macroflow (opening types)/ Apache (heating system/ room template/ profiles ) and inputs(baseline spefications) taken from Building regulations approvement documents and CIBSE guides • designed PV system for a 2 Bedroom house model and simulate energy genetion using PV Sol
Data analysis and Report: • Undertook data sorting and analysis using Excel and produce reports (UK domestic EPC's)

MSC Studio (Live project) South Yorkshire Housing Association, Sheffield UK Care house Retrofit (Live project in Sheffield - Design stage) Transformed a detached house for decarbonisation and wellbeing following energy hierarchy(minimise energy demand - supply energy efficiently- applying renewables) to comply with regulation and benchmark (CIBSE, Passivhaus, Zero Carbon) and achieved BREEAM outstanding (85% score by estimation)
Approach to Sustainable architecture: • improved 64% energy efficiency (operational energy simulation in Designbuilder) through fabric retrofit which achieved the Passivhaus standard • achieved net-zero carbon emissions by introducing suitable on-site renewable energy through a logical eliminatory process with building structural and environmental analysis using Designbuilder and Revit • realised 95% natural lighting through extended balconies with integrated shading design and simulated in IESVE
Good team player and Client-focused: • functioned effectively as part of an international team (5 members from 4 countries), placed team goal above personal preferences, and finally obtained a Distinction grade • actively listened to the client's needs and communicated patiently, successfully persuaded the client (South Yorkshire House Association) not to demolish and rebuild but to retrofit using both environmental (embodied carbon calculation, Life cycle assessment (LCA) using OpenLCA and economic arguments, enabling them to realise ambitious zero-carbon target by 2030 and contribute to a circular economy.
BIM workflow:
• developed Revit, IESVE modelling and simulations (including CFD and climate-based daylighting analysis)/ evaluated low and zero carbon technologies and possible options
