PROTOTYPING

INTERACTION TESTING

This is a workshop project which includes design and manufacturing a functional phone dock and phone with CNC machining and 3D printing

Separate Taps Solution Project Brief Some of the old British buildings have a hot water storage tank in the attic which is for heating and water using. According to British regulation, residence can only have separate hot and cold taps instead of a mixer tap because the water from the tank may not be entirely safe. Installing a mixer tap in these houses would be very expensive and time consuming. The project is about designing a relatively cheap and convenient solution that can provide safe, warm and drinkable water without mixing water .

Solution:

Let the hot water and cold run in different tunnel

Use a mini heat exchanger to exchange heat

Use separate tap and controller to fit the sink

Benefits: Clean and drinkable tap water Easy installation No need for replacing the heating system and sink Clear interaction Scald-preventing feature

Features Switch is incorporated into the spout

Separate temperature controller

Heat exchanger allows the hot water and cold water to exchange the heat without mixing

The product can be installed with very simple tools

The heat exchanger is installed below the sink and connected by tap connectors.
