Perspective of Exterior View

Perspective of Corridor Spacce

This is an exterior view to reveal the transparency of space. Through this view, I'm trying to show that there's a sequence of exterior-interior-exterior-interior-exterior in this circularform space. At the viewer's spot, people can see through multiple courtyard and obersve activity in multiple space. At the same time, scenes of nature penetrate inside this building.

This corridor space is the space inbetween the cirlular rooms in the plan. In this type of space, I try to explore the cuntinuity of space.

Triangular House For the Refugee

Syria 2016 Shinkenchiku Residential Competition Proposal

It is important to realize that the refugee camp is not only about misery.People there also live for love, live for hope, just like everyone else in the world. And because of the trauma and fear they suff ered during the war, it is critical to develop a new kind of dwelling space specifi cally for them. In the same way that the refugee is marginalized and overlooked, triangular corners are considered wasted or unusable space.

Conceptual Siteplan

This is base unit is multiplied to accommodate the needs of a family. The propagation of the family unit forms a circle that provides a large space in the center where the community may gather. This network of flexible public spaces allows uprooted families to reconnect with each other and regain a sense of community amidst chaos and uncertainty.

Group Modular Plan of the Triangular House

How do we create a place where refugees can live and heal at the same time? The seemingly awkward space of the triangle is combined with others to form a cohesive community space where the individual is integral to the whole. Our proposal realizes the untapped potential of the triangle to develope a unique spatial and social environment. The design operates atthree scales: S for the individual, M for the family, and L for the community.

07 Isolated Integration

This design begins with some questions. What is the future of museum and exhibition architecture given the explosive image circulation generated by digital media? With all things online, specialty art websites, and museums themselves, so what extra experience can a visit to the actual museum offer?

Axon of X-program space.

This axon view is an example of how different ways of exhibiting are integrated in one space. While it might have seemed that photography, originating as a pre-digital media, would fade in relevance in the digital world, this circulation of photo-images becomes more important than ever before. This is a space showing the history of how protoes in different era is produced.

Perspective of X-program space. Museums and other centers of cultural exhibition, still operating in pre-digital modes, have been very slow to address this radical paradigm shift of access, particularly within the museum itself, with rather tentative attempts in most cases to just add a screen or two with a brief “interactive feature. This x-program space explores the role architecture can play in making spatial new cultural modes of artistic production and exhibition.

Re-engage with the urban fabric grid system on vacant lots

08 Bloom Town Detroit Urban Ecology Dedign | Detroit ,United States 2016 GSAPP Advanced Studio VI

This project is located in Packard Automotive Plant, Detroit. During the design process, I was encouraged to do research in shrinking city case studies . By doing research and site visit, students choose thier own site in an area of 2000*2000 srf. I chose Packard automotive plant and its adjasent land as my design site. On the empty lot, I introduced a most efficient perpendicular grid system in a different scale. Trying to integrate different infrasteructure on this land. East Elevation of the University Facing Hudson River

09 New University New York ,United States 2016 GSAPP Advanced Studio VII

Ground Floor Plan

This project is located at Upper Westside ,Manhattan. It is a inter-disciplinary school combined with Bio-tech School and Design School. The building consists of multiple boxes, each box contains certain educational program. By placing those boxes in certain logic, the building form becomes very porous and have a lot of potential to create serendipity inside the interlocking space.

East Elevation of the University Facing Hudson River

Birdbiew of the University The future of University is more diverse than ever. It calls for more space, more serendipity, and more symbiosis . More space means not just the area, but also the diversity of space, different degree of publicity. More serendipity means different discipline like design and biology can be combined and people from different background would benefit from each other. More symbiosis means more ways of integration in space.

10 City Grotto Hong Kong,China 2014 Competition Proposal

This project opens the conversation between people and space. Based on oriental urban sipiritual demands,I came up with the idea of creating a spritual space for place where the complexities and struggles of daily life overwhelmed people a lot. I consider grotto as a prototype, trying to develop future spiritual space in oriental cities.
