THE DISTRIBUTION PIONEERS
We are searching for new trends in food distribution and trying to imagine how it will be in the future, having today so much waste and variety of food that comes from all over the world. Traditional distribution has a lot of problems during this changing era such as freshness, transportation, price, long distance, convenience, types, over supplication and so on. So it is important to improve the way for distribution or even create totally new ways for food distribution in the future. As this reasons, we found some awesome cases to change the way of distribution, which can be pioneer of this field and divine a new trend of distribution. So how they work? They can be virtualized in three different ways and we give three interesting names of each part. Why we choose our polarities? Our chosen vision, ROBIN FOOD, from rich to poor, is about using expiring or excess food to help people in need. So we are finding the suitable parts to fit this vision. What is the closest content about ROBIN FOOD? The situation. We thought people in need can be divided into two groups, one is being in need continuosly, and the other one is emergency. Through our cases study research, we discovered that some service project or company only distribute food to people directly without any organization or foundation’s help. So it can be seen as the original ones, help without help. Conversely, other are about the middle agencies like organizations give a platform to people to do some activities. We called this part transform, help with help. Finally, we decide everyday, emercency, original and transform as our four polarities of our position map.

For this scenario, our aim is collecting expiring or excessed food for transforming into another type of food which has longer shelf life so that can help people who are in an emergency like the situation of the war or disaster and so on. By this way, we can create an efficient way to help people who are in need badly. For example, fresh food is hard to save and transport, for this reason, we can transform food into new formslike the reel of compression dry food or even lego-shape food, wich reduce much more space for storage and transportation. By this way, like during the war period, this type of portable food can easily be equiped. Above all, it can ensure thequantity of the demandand the quality of the standard.
This scenario is about distributing original food to emergent situations . Our hypothesis is designing a service like an app or a website, wich can send “help� signal for people who are in an accident or emergency situation so that others can find them and give . them food immediately By designing in this way, we can shrink the middle link of emergency aid and help people who are in need frequently . Actually, it builds a social web for the public and give mutual help efficiently. But there are also some problems of this food first aid. Like long-distance situation, it will be hard for transportation and distribution. So for this reason, it is only suitable for regional demand. However, it is still a good way to build a indemnifiction of emergency help system, wich can be also seen as a powerful holder of the government problem solve department.

How to build a close bond between “rich” and “poor” is not only a simple way of donation or charity. It needs love and patience. So after discussion, our group decided focus mainly on poor older person and tried to design a good service for this special group.

Hi, we are a sweety couple of pensioners. We have economic difficulties, my Sciura CARLA & Sciur PAOLO pension is not enough and we need a little help. My wife is a masterchef and her showpiece SOFIA is pizzocheri, the proof of the pudding! MyGranny is a service design project which aims to help feed poor or lonely elder personby using an emotional way. Our design group would not like to donate food for this type of people directly because simply charitable behaviors are easily to be seen as only sympathies rather than equally treatments. By this reason, we prefer letting our target do something valuable andget benefitfrom their real actions. In MyGranny, elders from different countries and cultures can cook different types of foodfor the people who has made reservation in advance. What participants should do are bringing the ingredients to “granny” home and enjoying the meal together. We believe, what elders need more is about emotional and spiritual accompany, so why we do not taste their whole-life experienced food ? Maybe we can get more than them.

SUMMARY OF THE PSS
The Dandelion Bracelet is thought to allow the interaction between people, especially “local” and “tourist”. A local is someone who is resident in a certain city, while a tourist is someone who travels and wants to be part of the reality he/she is going to visit. technology it doesn’t need to be recharged. Then the user has to download the app, which is fundamental for the entire PSS. The app can interact with the bracelet using bluetooth technology; after setting on the app the main personal information and the status of the user (i.e. local or tourist), you can start to enjoy the service. Indeed, if the bracelet is switched on, when a tourist and a local are within a certain radius of meters that is editable through the app (using GPS of the smartphone), the bracelet of the local starts to vibrate and if he accepts the interaction (using a botton on the bracelet), then the tourist can follow the leds on his bracelet to reach the local. with local helping the tourist and the tourist knowing more about the place he is visiting. After the interaction, the tourist has to give a feedback and “virtual money” (from 1 to 5) to the local, according to the experience he had during the interaction. The local will use this virtual money in his future trips or to receive “discounts” during the events of the organizers. In effect the main users of the service are the tourist and the local, but we have to consider also

Indeed the event planner can organize the activity and send all the informations using the app, the users will give a feedback to the organizer, to understand if that event was really appropriate with the aim of the Dandelion PSS. The PSS should enable the tourist to know not only the main aspects and “touristic locations” of the place visited, but also fells part of that context, staying in touch with the real cultural aspects of the city. While on the opposite side the local can be involved in social interaction and let the tourist to have the best memories of the travel, considering that in the future he will be a tourist looking for the same service.

Why feedback and virtual money are so important? We can consider our PSS a form of collaborative service in which trust is fundamental. To promote the use of this service, we had to encourage in some way the local, because it’s true that is a service for people that want to improve interactions, but they couldn’t want to lose too much time. So we decided to add “virtual money” at the common feedbacks. Virtual money, assigned by the tourist according to the level of satisfaction of interaction, can be used by the local in his future trips or to receive certain amount of discount by the planner of events. So the discounts that the planner of events should give to the local in change of virtual money, promotion. Moreover also the feedbacks on the events made by local and tourist are important, because so doing, Dandelion can understand if the planner of event is organizing events in line with the main aims of Dandelion.

DESIGN BRIEF & REQUIREMENTS SETTINGS The design of our PSS requires essentially two phases, the design of the bracelet and the design of the network facilities that allow interactions between different actors. The bracelet is made of hypoallergenic TPU rubber, to avoid problems caused by splash water to capture much sun as possible and to allow the led to be visible. We decided to apply a magnetic closure to have at the same time comfort and safety to not lose it. According to other bracelet offered by the market, we chose three different measures for the market, respectively S (15 cm of circumference), M (18 cm) and L (20 cm). In the middle of the bracelet we put 8 led ordered like a compass, which are able to light up when they have to show the path to the user. The connection between the smartphone and the bracelet is guaranteed by a bluetooth connection, so we put the bluetooth component inside the bracelet and a microprocessor which enables the exchange of information between the two devices. Moreover we have a vibrating motor and a thin battery recharged only by solar energy, so the user is free from any other recharger. In the bracelet there are also two buttons, in two different sides; one is able to stop the vibration, while the other has the “switch on/off” function. All the technical components that we decided to use, will be able to guarantee a depth close to 50x30 mm. After the design of the bracelet, we had to think about the network enabling the connection between actors. The fundamental part is the mobile app, which allows all the fundamental interaction with the service. Indeed, for example, the app has access to the GPS of the smartphone and when a tourist and a local are close enough, such as in a radius of 200 meters, the app understands the situation and allows the meeting between the two users. city, from museum exhibitions up to party events. A fundamental requirement for the service is the GPS connection of the smartphone and the assumption that the PSS will work very well after a wide diffusion of the bracelets. We can think about our PSS like a network externality, considering an economic point of view, so more users mean more diffusion of the service, more interactions between locals and tourists, more interest for the planners of events, which could be considered like providers of complementary goods/services (i.e. activities allowing interactions and money returns for the organizers). To allow a wide diffusion of the bracelet, ii’s fundamental to capture the attention of the tourist a new method to spread events in the city and thanks to a direct interaction between the local and the tourist, the second one could be informed also about “hidden” places or events which sometimes are not present in a common touristic guide or not promoted. Moreover the tourist could be more in touch with the city he/she is visiting, so the better experience and perception of the visited destination can support positive comments and a “free” advertisement for the city itself. It’s fundamental also to promote the diffusion of the bracelets in strategic point characterized by the arrival of the tourists, like terminal shops in the airports or in the railway stations. We thought to improve next to the app, also a website, in which the user or the organizer can in a blog. All these activities, from the design of the bracelet till the management of the app and website will be done inside Dandelion Company, while the manufacturing phase of the bracelet will be Hanergy Company.

Why Dandelion should be so interesting? We started from an idea that in this world it’s becoming harder develop “real” interactions, especially in the big cities in which everyone thinks often only about himself/herself, in which we prefer to look at our social network page instead to begin a conversation at the bus stop. However there are people that sometimes would improve some kind of interactions, but they are afraid to disturb the others or to be seen as an eccentric person. With Dandelion we want to give voice to these people, especially focusing on the interactions that could come up between residents of city (locals) and tourists. Spreading this service, not only the tourist can reach places unknown for the tourist guide or live unforgettable experience, but also he can comprehend deeply the culture of that place. On the opposite side, the local can be part of this experience suggesting places he knows very well, helping someone else as he would like to be treated during his trips. Because every local will be a tourist and every tourist will be a local. Dandelion should have the support of the economic system because if we improve the experience of the tourist in his journey, in an indirect way we improve local tourism. That tourist will return to home and will describe best memories of the visited place and we will have the so called “word of mouth”. Moreover we will be able to sponsor not only the main activities of that city, but also the hidden ones which are not promoted usually. Another important aspect is that we could be able to reduce the misunderstanding of some cultures different from our one; these incomprehensions are often given by a lack of real contact with people coming from different places.
