8 Windows at Frontt side are screened from neighbors while operable slats provide shading for the each rooms.
Dan & Tyler House incorporates natural lighting and ventilation strategies in conjunction with a new openness.
Slat wall covering the main entrance follows the image of horizontal wooden fence while providing shading and privacy.
At the clerestory house, a passive stack vents warm air through an operable clerestory and brings daylight into the deep living room. The natural flow of air eliminates the need for mechanical air conditioning. The folding doors which surrounding rear and left side of a house extends views through the public areas of the house and to the yard beyond.

The contemporary artworld consists of a complex system of people and institutions, participants and containers, that together function to continually "define, validate, and maintain the cultural category of art," as well as to maintain their own authority in society to do so. The artworld provides the "structure of symbolic capital" in the form of value, prestige, and other intangible factors from which the art market may derive a monetary value.
This symbol indicates the flow of art in exchange for money.
A dashed line indicates flow of art with either no expected or immediate monetary return or an expected return of some other symbolic capital, such as social status and prestige.

EACH POD HAS MANY OPENINGS FOR CONVENIENCE OF VISITOR. THEREFOR VISITORS DON'T NEED TO LOOK AROUND ALL THE WAY OF GALLERY. VISITORS ARE ABLE TO DECIDE THEIR OWN CIRCULATION. OF COURSE, OPENINGS DON'T MAKE STRONG SOLID BOUNDARY BETWEEN GALLERY(POD) AND EXTERNAL ACTIVITY SPACE. IN OTHER WORD, VISITOR CAN EXPERIENCE TWO DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES SIMULTANEOUSTLY.

Mid-century Modernism Ford's buildings at Trinity, together with the landscape, convey a strong sense of place. his distinctive design elements as an innovative and cost-efficient lift-slab construction system, landscaping filled with hearty native plants, and repeated patterns, elements, materials, and forms that create a coherent campus deeply connected to the city and land. Trinity needs to renobate residentials halls, such as South, North, Isabel, Sussana, Myrtle and Heidi. They want to use residential halls as a gallery, art historical preservation labs, archive, and library. They would like to interact with nearby communities and also increase their revenue taking more students and offering higher educations, especially focused on art and historic preservation. 1. Harmony_Topology A rock escarpment, irregularly divided the campus from east to west in to upper and lower levels; abandoned stone quarry formed a hillside; a good overlooking downtown San Antonio; Strategy_to keep O’Neil Ford’s design, the building should be in harmony with the site to preserve its beauty and utilize its unique topology, make the buildings accommodate to the natural surfaces. 2. Modern_Building O’Neil Ford showed how modernism itself could be in a campus that keeps the surroundings integrated with the buildings as a whole. The lift-slab method was the first major building in the country to be erected by this method. Strategy _ to make the museum buildings as a modern complex in the campus, as well as in San Antonio. 3. Material_brick Trinity is reflected by textured elements in the brick wall surfaces, segmentally arched windows, corbelled arches, and occasionally by projecting cornices that complete a more formal and a more traditional presentation. Strategy_to use the red bricks in the museum construction, add more materials such as steel, concrete or stone to interpret the buildings as one of the most significant part in the campus. 4. Lift-Slab_Construction structure In 1952, this construction method is an innovative technique enabled workers to build concrete slabs at ground level and lift them into place. The big advantage of erecting concrete buildings using lift slab construction is elimination of most form work. Strategy_to make use of this dominant construction structures, create different using spaces. This allows us to do alteration, adjacency, addition and rehabilitation.

CIRCULATION OF EXISTING BUILDINGS (RESIDENTIAL HALLS) IS SEPARATED BY A FOYER, CENTRAL BUILDING. THERE ARE GREEN SPACES, GOOD FOR GATHERING AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, BUT NOW THERE ARE NO ACTIVITIES BECAUSE OF DEFICENCY OF CIRCULATION BETWEEN EAST AND WEST.
OPEN UP OPENING A FOYER UP NOT ONLY CONNECTS BEWTEEN EAST AND WEST GREEN SPACE, BUT ALSO DRAW ACTIVITIES INTO CENTRAL SPACES.

LIBRARY MULTI FUNCTION SHADE : EXSTING GATHERING SPACE IS PLANNED TO BE A LIBRARY AND CAFE. IT IS SURROUNDED BY GLASS WINDOWS, SO THE PLACE NEEDS A SECURITY SYSTEM TO PROTECT INNER OBJECTS OF A LIBRARY. SUGGESTED MULTI FUNCTION SHADE OFFERS TWO DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY, DURING DAY IT BECOMES A SHADE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE SITTING AT A PATIO AND AT NIGHT IT TURNS TO BE A SECURITY GRILLE TO PROTECT INNER OBJECTS.

STATLER_HILTON CONTEXT The Renovation and Reuse of the Historic Statler-Hilton needs to support a rigurous street life, particularly on the Hardwood Street and Commerce Street fronts, if not all the way around the block, in order to sucessfully connect to the future activity corridors. Nearby colleges and univesities : The largest colleges and universities around downtown are SMU to the north, Texas Woman’s University to the northwest, and the EI Centro campus of Dallas Comunity College in the downtown core. The UNT-Law School will open soon next door to the historic Statler-hilton. Nearby museums and cultural centers : The museums and cultural centers of Dallas are largely clustered in three main districts (West End, Arts, and Fair Park, leaving the center core of downtown around the east end of Main Street and Hardwood without any such attraction.

LIGHTING ANALYSIS _ SCULPTURAL SOLAR WINDOW SCREEN FOR OPEN SPACE OF MULTI FAMILY HOUSE
PASSIVE SOLAR TECHNIQUES Solar window screen is designed to deflect the majority of the sun's UV rays before they reach the glass of your windows. Heat Reduction Solar window screens keep heat outside the building, where it is released back to the outside air. These screens can block up to 90 percent of these rays, and reduce inside temperatures up to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This can create a significant energy saving in achieving a comfortable interior climate. Damage Prevention UV rays are also responsible for damage created by sun fading. By blocking these rays, furniture and other valuables are protecting from these damaging effects. This allows items to maintain their look for a much longer time. Glare Reduction Glare from the sun is often a problem inside the house as well. Solar screens block the glare that appears on TV screens, mirrors and other things in the room.

HANOK The name hanok refers to a building with traditional Korean wood-frame construction. These traditional buldings took the form of palaces, temples, and houses. The hanok is walled courtyard-based structure that allows views into the house from the garden. Hanok, traditional Korean houses, are environment-friendly establishments as they are built with materials readily available in nature, such as wood, earth, stone, straw, clay (for ceramic roof tiles), and paper.

A SPACE, WHICH IS HAVING A COMFORT CONVERSATION C A SPACE, WHICH IS SOMETIMES ABLE TO BE AN OFFICE FOR LIGHT WORKS DRINKING A MILD ALCHOHOL... 'BREAK ROOM' IS PURSUEING THE CULTURE OF A COFFEE SHOP TO BE TRANSFERED INTO BEERHOUSE... BREAK (RELAXING) ROOM (SPACE IS ABLE TO DRINK)
COFFEE SHOP BECAME SUCCESSFUL TO BE POPULAR IN PUBLIC BY STAR BUCKS & COFFEE BEAN. THUS, THEY HAVE BEEN SELLING THEIR CULTURE TO US. IN OTHER WORDS, NEW CULTURE COMBINED WITH WESTERN WAS CREATED BY THE MEDIUM OF COFFEE. IT MEANS THE PLACE, COFFEESHOP IS NOT ONLY FOR DRINKING A CUP OF COFFEE BUT ALSO BEING INTERACTED WITH THE NEW WESTERN CULTURE. iN SHORT, OUR CULTURE OF DRINKING SHOULD BE CHANGED FROM GETTING DEAD DRUNK TO SHARING ADVANCED CULTURE AS A BREAK ROOM.
