CHETTINADU THEMED GUESTROOM

The corridor is planned in such a way that 2 rows of rooms are oriented as two adjacent areas of a typical Chettinadu corridor.The right block of rooms represents the courtyard side & the right block of guestrooms represent the main block of a chettinadu house.The slanting roof supported by wooden pillars is reminiscent to a typical chetinadu corridor.Double height central courtyards with less or no floor level difference is the central element of any Chettinadu structure. Abundant use of wood, usually extensively carved can be seen. Wooden pillars, Aathangudi tiles & Tanjore painting are other major elements used in Chettinadu homes.
