Brightly lit, the fresh juices bar outside sets the mood for the food. Coloured stone flooring, with bright lights, large black tables, pink, beige and black seating in an air-conditioned space makes it an ‘eat and leave’ sort of place instead of a ‘linger and chill’ location.

BUDDDHISM

INSPIRED DESIGN

Good art forms has the capacity to transform people’s thought & enlighten them. Most of the traditional art of India is rooted to a religion or a culture which conveys some good values or Knowledge. Been the mother of great traditions and cultures, Vedas etc; India has also been the birthplace of Buddhism, which is now a global religion/ culture.

Inspired from Buddhism which teaches to be mindful and aware of thoughts and actions, and to develop wisdom and understanding, the idea is to encourage traditional performance arts. The Signature offering of the Hotel is the Dining Space which has a Multi-Cuisine Restaurant, Outdoor Dining & Gallery facing the Live performance Pavilion, which is the focal Point of the space.

INDIAN CULTURE

CHETTINADU STYLE

Double height central courtyards with less or no floor level difference is the central element of any Chettinadu structure. Abundant use of wood, usually extensively carved can be seen. Wooden pillars, Aathangudi tiles & Tanjore painting are other major elements used in Chettinadu homes.

KERALA STYLE

Kerala architecture owes to it peciliar humid climate with its ‘Nalukettu’ (central courtyard),extended ceiling overhangs & wooden Jaliwork. Wood is major raw material & it also makes use of vernacular materials like laterite stone, mudmclay tiles etc. Vibrant Wall murals are a reflecion of kts local art forms & culture. Wooden ceilings & panelings are prominently used.

RAJASTHANI STYLE

Rajasthan interiors are charecterised by the abundant use of stone carved Jali which creates a play of light in the Interiors. Another peculiar element is the ‘Jharokha’ - a type of overhanging enclosed balcony used in Rajasthan architecture. Other prominent elements include vibrant colours, natural stones, low height seating & highly embelished furnishings.

GROUND FLOOR LOBBY & PRE-FUNCTION AREA

Design of the ground floor lobby & pre-function area is kept contemporary. Focal point of the lobby is the Cement refief work of ancient temple sculpture which gives a clue about what the Hotel is all about - A confluence of different cultures.A sense of luxury is attained throught the use of Italian marble flooring, White leather Sofa & Crystal Chandilier. The Pre-function area makes uses of natural light where there is also a seating area which can also be used when banquet hall is not in use.

37 36

BUDDHA LOUNGE RESTAURANT LOBBY

The Restaurant lobby & corridor design is kept warm & subtle with its muted colour palettes & soft lighting. THe Buddha sculpture becomes the point of focus in the space with the randomly lit niches form an interesting backdrop. The entire lobby is illuminated by the natural light filtering through the frosted glass partition which seperates the lobby & service corridor. The corridor leading the the dining area has a welcoming ambience with the concurrent wooden panels running throught the walls & ceiling.

RESTAURANT & LIVE PERFORMANCE AREA

The prime focus of the Restaurant is the Live performance area surrounded by the shallow pool. The two dining halls are designed in such a way to maximize the view towards the performance pavillion.

KERALA THEMED GUESTROOM

Thehigh post Cot is highlighted against the backdrop of a kerala wall mural. The mud texture cladding & the teakwood flooring creates a warm ambience.Another prominent feature of the bedroom is the wooden jaliwork with’Kilivathil’ ( small window opening) which creates an outdoor seating area without the privacy being disrupted. The wooden ceiling descending to the walls adds to the luxurious feel of the guestroom.

45 44

CHETTINADU THEMED GUESTROOM

The corridor is planned in such a way that 2 rows of rooms are oriented as two adjacent areas of a typical Chettinadu corridor. The right block of rooms represents the courtyard side & the right block of guestrooms represent the main block of a chettinadu house. The slanting roof supported by wooden pillars is reminiscent to a typical chetinadu corridor.Double height central courtyards with less or no floor level difference is the central element of any Chettinadu structure. Abundant use of wood, usually extensively carved can be seen. Wooden pillars, Aathangudi tiles & Tanjore painting are other major elements used in Chettinadu homes.
