WORK EXPERIENCE
- Developed computing, time keeping, leadership and organisational skills. Trained new staff and positively impact on the company when gaining new clients. Sales Assistant, Paperchase Nottingham (Nov 2012 – Dec 2012) - Assisted customers in choosing art / gift products, serving on tills, answering customer queries during busy Christmas period. Needed to learn products quickly as was always changing. Sales Advisor, River Island Leicester (Sept 2007 – Nov 2010) - Dealing first hand experience with customer complaints, delivering, processing, displaying and selling to the customer. Experience within sales and service, product, operations and visual merchandising.
Next Clothing Company, Head Office Leicester (June 2013) Time here was spent within women’s, men’s and children’s merchandising, as well as PR and visual merchandising. I was able to help each team out within the store grading system and gained insight into the company. Key moments included learning about trend progression within visual merchandising, developing merchandising skills within all departments, writing Facebook updates, updating their Pinterest account and writing a press release for a new store opening.
ACHIEVEMENTS Travel - Between school and University I took a year out to travel, where I went to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. By meeting a variety of people and experiencing different cultures I was out of my comfort zone, but proved to adapt well to unknown situations. Media - I won a University blog competition, chosen by Study Link and also a University App competition for Dove, chosen by Unilever.
ABOUT Visual communicator with excellent time management, planning and awareness skills. Strengths in team environment, organisation and communication, which I feel would benefit within a working relationship. Self-motivated, enthusiastic and supportive, with the ability to translate ideas fluently. Analytical minded, and keen to develop within a company, working to the limits to provide the best result.
University Leadership – I am currently Student Representative for my course at Nottingham Trent, and undertaking the NTSU Leadership Award, along with organising our graduate show. Team Building – For the BackUp Trust, I climbed Mount Snowdon with a spinal cord injured individual to raise money and awareness for spinal cord injury victims. This was a great achievement as it was so difficult, but team work was developed and paid off.
