[ A Public Space Mediator ]

Million Years Ago ... "Human" is the key element of the space.By measuring the dimensions of space elements such as furniture, corridors, and doors with different functions, I found that all space designs were based on human scales. In other words, there is no so-called "space" without human participation. In today's many erroneous urban constructions, the connection between public spaces and humans is gradually weakening. The contradictions between different groups of people, and those between people and the city have also become prominent. Considering the strong connection between public spaces and humans, fallacies in public space can lead to errors in people, activities, and even to negative developments of the society. To change the space, the activities of people in the space must also be altered.

How to mediate the public?
What Can I Do For Urban Mediation
I believe a good urban design combines space with people's self-growth. The great urban space does not have a clear theme but contains opposition, spanning time and accepting changes. Cities carry people's activities, and because of cities, people form diverse groups and create wealth and culture. Only with cities can there be human beings of sociological significance.

History of the swamp development
Project Introduction Taking san pedro prison as the research object, I tried to improve the living conditions of prisoners in the "world's most terrifying prison" through architecture design, using space as an opportunity to guide the positive development of prisoners' behavior. Before the reconstruction, this prison was filled with class oppression, violence, drugs and other disturbing factors that endangered the optimistic development of La paz’ society. It occupied the center of the city like a huge malignant tumor, continuously expanding and devouring the surrounding positive space. I tried to research the psychology of prisoners as a design breakthrough to find the factors that can really change their criminal tendency. In the end, I chose "behavior transparency" as the solution strategy for design. The negative spaces in the prison will be transparent. The behavior and gaze of residents will be supervision and guidance for prisoners.

Some prisons will be converted into indoor sports rooms to reduce waste space and increase friendly exchanges between prisoners.
The ground floor space in the prison is set up as a variety of grocery retail stores, selling prisoners’ labor products. It is isolated from the outside world by glass material, but it can enable prisoners to communicate with the outside world.
Panoramic Surveillance Office
A three-story building is added to the original office area of the prison, and the entire prison is monitored through a high tower, and a visiting area is set up here to maintain the authority of the prison administrator.
Rooftop Viewing Area A fully transparent roof space is set up on the top of the dormitory area, so that prisoners can observe the outside world at any time, maintain connectivity to the external society, and allow the outside crowd to examine the crowd in the prison.

-Biologist Weike Jakob von Uexküll Lijiatuo Street is an old community but with a strong flavor of life. It used to be the largest industrial cluster in Chengdu. Most of residents living here are old employees. However, the public space here has not been well designed and cannot satisfy the residents' daily entertainment and leisure. To renovate the old neighborhoods with a strong imprint in life, I have to respect the needs and opinions of the residents. I renewed the streets through public participation strategies, returning the power to build communities to the residents here. I updated the four blocks in different directions. Residents have a"Street Action Guide" here. They can change the streets they live in during play and leisure.

A friendly street serving students or parents, with a variety of street furniture, where people can play and rest. The bicycle lane has been widened and a fitness track has been added.
This is a street node that mainly serves community residents. Street furniture is mainly based on neighborhood activities, including reading, screening, carnival, etc., to promote neighborhood exchanges.
This is a street by the river, and the road is wider. We set up space along the street and interactive lighting installations. Carry out time-sharing transformation of roads, and organize residents to run and ride during car-free hours. N

Project Introduction
College Students Analysis
In the context of the explosive development of knowledge and information in contemporary urban society, the exchange of information between universities is very necessary. I took the idle land between Sichuan University, West China Medical College and Sichuan Conservatory of Music as the research object. I classified and sorted out the majors, interests and life trajectories of the students in the three universities, summarizing their needs and skills. In design, I sorted out the gathering points of all the crowds, using the mode of human neuron transmission as the background of spatial planning, and transformed the idle land between the three schools into a hub for effective exchange and communication. The public space is a medium that exchanges information and knowledge between different universities, making their lives more efficient and redefining the way universities will be integrated in the future.

Project Introduction
Location
High-density residential buildings are all over the Sham Shui Po area of Hong Kong, which are called "Tong Lau" by the locals. Most of residents living here have low level of education, lack of social security and stable jobs. In a city with a large gap between the rich and the poor, such people are on the verge of being abandoned by society. Living in a “Tong Lau”, they rarely come into contact with nature, lack of social care. I want to renovate the Tong Lau buildings, taking urban agriculture which is gradually being practiced as an entry point to provide a place for residents to contact nature and perform manual labor. They can gain income through farming, and increase connections with society, changing the status quo of life and negative emotions. At the same time, such environmental improvement also eases the contradiction between urban development and nature, and builds a sustainable community.

Sham Shui Po The Sham Shui Po District is one of the earliest development areas in Hong Kong, and it was once an industrial, commercial and transportation hub. This area is the poorest area. Sham Shui Po hides the largest number of poor people in Hong Kong. Many elderly people also struggle to survive here, and there are elderly people begging at the subway entrance in the early morning.

Tong lau Space Analysis In Sham Shui Po semi-enclosed space There are a large number of idle and abandoned spaces on the roof of the Chinese building where motor boxes and TV antennas are placed, and there is a large amount of domestic and construction waste.
