Identity + Community The value of understanding who we are… TOGETHER. We just wrapped up a great teaching series on identity, pointing out the 3 lies that culture tells us:

1.Other people define your value. 2. Performance produces love. 3.Humility is for losers. We discovered that God determines our value and He calls us “child.” We also realized that there’s nothing we can do to make God love us more or less - His complete love is demonstrated in Christ. And finally, we discovered that Jesus was humble in that he looked out for others first, but was not weak and didn't allow people to walk all over Him. And all of this leads well into our need for each other…

“Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.” (Gal. 6:10) Our first week in the topic of Community revealed the importance of other people in our lives. Together we can provide encouragement and accountability. Together we can help one another overcome challenges. Together we can help one another live like Christ!

We will be talking in the coming weeks about how our gifts and abilities work well together and how our story is important to the greater community of faith. The best part is that the students will be sharing the teaching and sharing their stories, not just adults!
A group of students and adults attended The Silver Ring Thing for the second year in a row that it has been local. The evening was spent revealing how culture says the lie that sex isn’t a big deal and that purity is pointless. Eisenhower HS hosted the event that’s put on by a traveling team. The team shared testimony, led crowd games, and engaged the topic using a “Late Night Show”-esque venue.
At Trinity, it is our goal as a body to help ONE ANOTHER experience AUTHENTIC LIFE CHANGE through the POWER of the GOSPEL. It’s encouraging to see students long for the same thing.
Afterwards, many of our students responded by purchasing purity rings or, if they already had one, other merchandise.
Any one in 7-12th grade is welcome to join us for our regular gatherings on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 @ 1230 Wigren.

ˌŌVƏRˈ(H)WELM Adult. Student. Child… If you listen to any of us talk for 5 minutes, the word “overwhelmed” may as well be written on our faces. Holidays are coming and even with vacation, this won’t just figure itself out. What are you doing to create mental space? For REAL rest? Sure Netflix marathons are good stuff, but do you ever walk away rested? Ps. 62 says, “My SOUL finds REST in God alone.” No, you don’t have to be at every church function or always have deep, spiritual conversations, but are you investing in the ONE relationship that guarantees rest? Know yourself. Know your limits. Know your intentions AND direction.
