THE ROCK LOVE GOD | LOVE OTHERS | MAKE DISCIPLES
FAITH doesn't get “sick days” Our son was pretty sick this past week and it required me home for a few of those days. Caring for him made me think

about my desire for “sick days" from life and from faith. There are just days where, though we "KNOW" the

However, like being a parent, Christians don’t get to choose when to live out their faith or call in “sick" from doing what God asks of us.
Faith requires action James addresses this in his writing that we can’t know what God asks us to do and NOT do it - otherwise, it’s 1

sin. He also encourages us to action stating that, “faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (2:14). This is why the family of faith is necessary - for those needed days of encouragement and accountability! We love each other with a sincere love, “spurring one another on towards love and good works” (Heb. 10:24-25). YES, find rest, but don’t allow frustration or exhaustion lead you to throw in the towel. Seek counsel and encouragement, first from God, then from your church family, then get back in the ring knowing NOTHING can defeat you! You’re LOVED!
30 Hour Famine Experience Students and leaders of The Rock participated in World Vision’s 30 hour famine at the end of February, raising awareness and financial support for children across the globe that regularly go without proper nutrition and meals that we take for granted on a daily basis. Starting at 7am on Friday, students were only allowed to drink fluids until 1pm on Saturday when they broke their fast. The team of participants all came together Friday night, commiserating about the hunger pains, but eyes opened to the reality of hunger. Student leaders executed a number of games through-out the event that provided insight into the lives of the children for which they were raising funds. For example, teams had to build shelters using cardboard and other gathered supplies and explain their purposes. They then debriefed each experience. Saturday morning, after a night in the church, the team spent time with residents at the Frewsburg Rest Home doing exercises and playing board games. Upon return to the church, they closed out the experience, sharing their testimonies about the experience and, finally, breaking bread together. Thank you for your support in prayer and your financial giving! They raised over $1,200!
