Inspired by you and your family’s needs, these innovations feature everything from technology that allows you to limit flow rates so you can save water and energy, to temperature control and Cool Body features for your comfort and safety. 1 - Fast Fix Bracket Unlike competitor’s fixing brackets which fit inside the wall so require internal access during their installation, our Fast Fix Bracket attaches to the outside of the wall. In fact, we were the first company to offer factory fitted flow regulators on our basin mixers. The ingenious CLICK technology in our single lever basin mixer and bidet mixer is designed to help you save water. Just lift the handle until you feel a slight resistance; this tells you you’re getting 50% of the mixer’s maximum flow. To achieve full flow, simply lift the lever to its maximum. 4 - Safety first for you and your family It’s only natural you put your family’s safety first and now, with our Cool Body innovation, you’ll never have to worry about fittings becoming too hot to touch. Not only that, our thermostatic control ensures you enjoy a safe temperature that’s maintained at all times, whatever water’s being used elsewhere in your home. 5 - Faster, more convenient bath filling Idealfill fittings are separate from the filler so you can turn the water on and off from a convenient place on or around the bath while the water comes from a combined filler and overflow. So, no more stretching around the shower screen to turn your bath on. Idealfill delivers 23 litres of water per minute, faster than any other bath filling system. 6 - Easy temperature control It’s so easy to control water flow and temperature with a smooth, effortless handle featuring our pioneering ceramic disc technology. A single lever controls the pressure and temperature within a comfort zone of 30–45°C. So, you can limit water wastage and enjoy a more efficient flow rate – with no drips! We’ve also developed a multi-port cartridge that enables even those with low pressure systems to enjoy a reliable, efficient flow. We’ve incorporated this technology into our one hole bath fillers too so you can match the single lever design of your basin mixer with your bath filler, without compromising performance. We’re proud to say, no other company offers this design feature. 7 - Extra safety Particularly important if you’ve got children, our temperature limit stop limits the movement of the handle when the tap is full on, so reducing the maximum temperature obtained. This can be preset in one of several positions for your family’s comfort and safety.

Jargon explained Ceramic Disc

Flow Regulator

The ceramic disc cartridge principle for bath, basin, bidet and shower ďŹ ttings was developed by Ideal Standard and is the modern way to control water ďŹ&#x201A;ow. There are no washers to wear and drip. A robust housing contains ceramic discs to control the ďŹ&#x201A;ow of water through the ďŹ tting.

Factory ďŹ tted with a ďŹ&#x201A;ow regulator to save water. Usually ďŹ tted to the outlet of basin mixers, the inlet to pillar taps or the inlet to a shower handspray. A ďŹ&#x201A;ow straightener is also supplied with some ďŹ ttings to replace outlet ďŹ&#x201A;ow regulators when used on low pressure systems.

High pressure Ceramic disc ďŹ ttings are all â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;drip freeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; and impervious to lime deposit.

CLICK cartridge A feature in single lever basin and bidet ďŹ ttings that encourages water saving. The user lifts the handle until they feel a resistance, which equates to a ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate of 50%. Lifting the handle past this â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;clickâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; enables the ďŹ tting to deliver up to full ďŹ&#x201A;ow.

Combination boiler systems Provide hot and cold water at mains pressure MINIMUM BAR MEANING THAT @(IGH 0RESSURE ďŹ ttings can be used. Some combi systems can give much higher hot water ďŹ&#x201A;ow rates than traditionally UK gravity fed systems. These systems are easily identiďŹ ed by a lack of hot water tank, as hot water is produced instantaneously as required.

Low pressure The pressure in traditional UK gravity fed hot water systems depends on the height of the COLD WATER TANK USUALLY IN THE LOFT ABOVE the water outlet and is usually less than 1bar. Typical pressures are 0.2bar for bath and basin ďŹ lling and 0.1bar for showers on the ďŹ rst ďŹ&#x201A;oor of a two storey dwelling. â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;High Pressureâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; products are not suitable for use on low pressure systems as they would give poor ďŹ&#x201A;ow rates. All products not marked â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;High Pressureâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; are suitable for use on low pressure systems.

Mixer ďŹ ttings

Cool Body

Water from the hot and cold valves is mixed in the body of the ďŹ tting or spout to whatever temperature and volume is required by adjusting the handles on the valves.

Body is cool to the touch at all times to ensure safer use and prevent burning.

Monoblock mixers

Diverter A shower diverter is ďŹ tted to all combined bath and shower mixer ďŹ ttings. By operating the diverter, water can be directed from the bath spout to the shower handspray.

Eco Button Limits the ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate to 50% to save on water usage, with a simple manual override to achieve higher ďŹ&#x201A;ow rates.

Products only suitable for installations with a high water supply pressure. This is a minimum of 1bar, but is often greater.

These are one piece basin, bath or bidet mixers which incorporate the hot and cold valves and spout in one body.

Multiport Cartridge The Multiport Cartridge features 3 outlets PORTS FOR THE OUT GOING WATER TO mOW through, inside the body of the ďŹ tting. This provides a greater water ďŹ&#x201A;ow out of the tap, in comparison to an internal cartridge with a SINGLE PORT OUTLET /THER BENElTS PROVIDED by the Multiport Cartridge are easy water and temperature control and a smooth and effortless handle control.

Over rim supply bidets

Thermostatic valve

Bidets for over rim supply are manufactured with one or three tap holes. A constant ďŹ&#x201A;ow of clean water is provided for washing at a selected temperature.

Contains a temperature sensitive wax cartridge that maintains the water temperature to within +/-1 degree ensuring that the temperature and pressure is automatically controlled, preventing cold water shock or hot water scalding.

Pillar taps Traditional separate hot and cold taps for baths and basins.

Quarter turn A ceramic disc cartridge that activates the water ďŹ&#x201A;ow from off to fully on in just 90Ë&#x161; of movement.

Safety Stop Limits the outlet water temperature to 40Â°C to protect vulnerable users. A simple manual override of the button located on the temperature control of a shower achieves a higher temperature.

Sequential Sequential taps use only one lever which controls water temperature. The water ďŹ&#x201A;ow always starts at cold, reducing risk of scalding and ensuring a cold water purge.

Single Lever A simple lever action which controls both ďŹ&#x201A;ow and temperature in one easy action and is universally popular throughout Europe.

Temperature Limit Stop Limits the outlet water temperature to a pre-set level. For manual mixers there are 7 SETTINGS LOWEST THROUGH TO HIGHEST WHICH reduces the range of movement of the lever and therefore the amount of hot water thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; enters the ďŹ tting. For thermostatic mixers the maximum outlet temperature can be limited to 40, 43, 45 or 50Â°C, meaning that the ďŹ tting CAN BE SET USUALLY AT INSTALLATION TO PROTECT more vulnerable users when required.

Three hole mixers These mixers have a spout with separate hot and cold valves/levers/handles and ďŹ t on to three tap hole basins, baths and bidets.

TopďŹ x An innovative feature that allows the mixer to be ďŹ tted from above the basin. This avoids the difďŹ culty of tightening the ďŹ tting in the awkward space beneath the basin, simplifying and speeding up installation time. For further information please refer to page 6.

Twin ďŹ&#x201A;ow Even when water pressure is not balanced, Ideal Standardâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s twin ďŹ&#x201A;ow ďŹ ttings provide solutions for bath and basin. They allow a cold supply direct from the mains, while the hot supply can be furnished from low pressure storage.

Unvented hot water system Provide hot and cold water at mains pressure GREATER THAN BAR MEANING THAT @(IGH Pressureâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; ďŹ ttings can be used. Unvented hot water systems give much higher hot water ďŹ&#x201A;ow rates than traditionally UK gravity fed systems. These systems are easily identiďŹ ed by a pressure vessel on top of the hot water tank, AND A LACK OF COLD WATER FEEDER TANK USUALLY IN THE LOFT

Flow rate explained As consumers we all know from experience how disappointing it is when a product does not meet expectation. As a manufacturer Ideal Standard places much emphasis on performance of its mixers, taps and showers and actively encourages comparison of ďŹ&#x201A;ow rates to allow prospective customers to select a product which is both compatible with their domestic hot water system and meets their needs. 0.1 bar

In an effort to be visible and transparent we have created a quick icon for taps and showers which indicates the lowest recommended pressure required to achieve our target ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate. This target ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate is measured with any Eco ďŹ&#x201A;ow regulator removed. Whilst higher pressures will obviously achieve a greater ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate, in some circumstances the ďŹ&#x201A;ow performance at lower pressures may still be considered satisfactory, such as when water saving is a consideration. The information provided allows the calculation of ďŹ&#x201A;ow performance to be anticipated at any given pressure. Flow rates on baths are really important as no one wants to wait 20 minutes for a bath to ďŹ ll. BS EN 200 targets a bath ďŹ lling rate of at least 15 litres per minute.

Shower ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate is all about personal preference. In our experience no one would want to shower in less than 5 litres per minute. However, higher pressure will give a better showering experience. We also believe that a ďŹ&#x201A;ow rate of 12 litres per minute will satisfy those who prefer a powerful shower without excessive water consumption. For that reason most of our SHOWERS HAVE AN INTEGRATED REMOVABLE ďŹ&#x201A;ow regulator. We believe that ďŹ lling a basin at 5 litres per minute gives the best balance between ďŹ lling the basin and reducing water consumption when hand washing under running water. Flow Regulators Fitting a water regulator allows you to control the amount of water a tap uses. Water usage is determined by water pressure and the size of valve in the tap. So where you have particularly high pressure a tap could be delivering many unnecessary litres of water per minute. Our mixer tap regulator is designed to give you a maximum of 5 litres of water per minute up to a pressure of 3 bar. The regulator is screwed onto the tap outlet and has an airated nozzle.
