INTRODUCTION
This book not only represents a large photographic undertaking by myself, but a life experience that will last with me forever. The ‘Life’ series was shot in the back end of 2012, and the start of 2013, during my final year as a student in Cheltenham at the University of Gloucestershire. The people featured in this project aren’t just students, they are the future of the creative industry: The photographers and film makers, designers and advertisers, musicians and producers, events teams and PR people that will one day shape the faces of some of the most lucrative industries in the world. Right now however, they are the drug taaking, binge drinking, ‘up all night to do that project’ students that the media loves to hate. They are a generation of dreamers, a naive crowd of which a large percent will end up out of work before they’ve even been gifted a chance to start in life. They are the boys and girls that can
spin anything to their advantage, they know what they want and how to force it out of themselves. The student life is one filled with mistakes and mismanagement, an excess workload and an overcomplicated social life. Couple this with the evergrowing knowledge that the longer you stay a student, the deeper into the red you get. This book is here to show the way students deal with their problems in life by totally letting go. It is an unbiased view of everything and everyone that i have seen in my time around Cheltenhams night life scene. Awkward poses and practised smiles have no place in this series, this is the raw, the raunch, and the random that memories are made from.
