The cougar gets a lesson
A long time ago in Texcoco, there was a beautiful cougar that always believe that himself was the greatest of all creatures living in that time. He loved to scare every creature, aquatic, terrestrial or even a flying bird, he didn’t bother what kind of animal was he roared, jumped all the places just to have fun scaring all of them. One time he was hunting a deer when he fell with a little house of a grasshopper and destroy it.
The little grasshopper was when he saw what happened to his house and look the cougar didn’t take responsibility or even care a little, he went really angry, so he started to climb all the way to the cougar nose, then he claim – Hey cougar!, why you have to be so mean?, you just destroyed my house with your frightening paws! And you don’t even bother if someone or I got hurt.
-Disgusting and insignificant insect, is not my fault that you built what you call house, on my path! The grasshopper replied: - Well now you’re going to pay the damages of my house! – I’m not paying nothing horrible insect! Yelled the angry cougar. The grasshopper shaking furiously make his way to the feline nose to have a word with him: - I declare war to you! When the cougar felt the grasshopper little steps on his nose he sneeze and the grasshopper felt from the cougar nose, from the ground yelled again: - I declare war with all my troops, you can bring yours of course, then will see who wins the fight! The cougar all worthy, he turned around to find his troops.
Meanwhile, the grasshopper he when in search for the wasps to aid him: my sisters wasps, the time has come to give that conceited carnivorous and sanguinary feline, it’s enough to let that cougar step on us, if we stick together we can beat them! All the wasps agreed with the grasshopper on fighting the cougar and prepare for the war. Meanwhile the cougar went with the coyotes, wildcats and foxes for help, he explain them what happened with the grasshopper and incite them to fight saying: they will see this fools and disgusting insects of what we are capable, we will not let them threat us like this!
At short time the cougar and his troops were in the battlefield watching from where the enemy troops will come. The fox say that she would go to the forefront so when she saw the grasshopper troops will alert them. When the grasshopper soldiers saw the fox, they jump on her right the way and sting her in all her body, forgetting to give alarm she ran desperately and jump on the lake. The cougar and his companions after seeing at the lake believed she was chasing the grasshopper and ran to her.
The wasp army took advantage of this and attacked the cougar companions until they scream of pain they felt in their bodies. The fox, who saw all this from the lake yelled: - To the water to the water! And all jumped in the water without thinking twice. Meanwhile the wasps buzzing around them for hours, finally they get all thirsty, tired and cramped from been in the water for too long, so then decided to surrender.
After all of them surrender they went off the lake all wet and humiliated, they had to endure all the mocking and laughs from the wasps. The grasshopper approached the cougar and told him: - Insolent cougar I hope you don’t forget this lesson, and must know when all the little creatures join together, nobody can stop them!
