Week 6 Dear Year 2 Please see the work for Week 5 in this PDF. There is no expectation to print the work. Do try and complete it on paper at home or enjoy the online quizzes where available. There are links for you to click. These will take you quickly to work we have set. However, we have also included the Math worksheets and an alternative English lesson. You can choose which activities best suit you. Your child should already have a login for TTRockstars. If you need it again do message us on Dojos. English PIck 5 sounds (different to last week), then go on a hunt around your house and try to find objects with that sound in them. Make a list of the things you find for each sound.


5 minute write! This week we are going to do a 5 minute write every day. Some of you will be used to doing this but for those of you who aren’t, we have a picture that we work on all week but there will be a different element of challenge every day. The only rule is‌ You are only allowed to write for 5 minutes a day! So set a timer and turn the page...


Describe what you can see in the picture. Make sure that you use some interesting expanded noun phrases. Can you use some adverbs asWrite well? a description of the setting. Make sure to include expanded noun phrases. Silently Remember to use a comma between adjectives. Fiercely etc.

Look at each word box. Can you explain what adjectives, nouns and verbs are? Write 2 silly sentences by choosing one word from each box, for example: The glamorous alien chased a miniature shark. Then come up with your own words for each category and create some more silly sentences! Try to think of exciting adjectives and verbs you could use.


What do you think is happening in this picture? What makes you think that? What do you think might happen next? Make sure that you use some subordinating conjunctions to explain your ideas.

The ice-cold water made her paws tingle, the sound of the cascading water around her filled her ears, and she could feel her heart pounding inside her chest. Her senses were more alert than ever. Over years of practise, however, she had perfected the art of blocking out all possible distractions, focusing only on catching her prey.
